Commercial Retail Space Design For - Ducati Motorcycle

Ducati motors is an excellent brand which produces road bikes as well as racing bikes. The goal was to design a store and empower it with sportsman spirit.

Requirements for the store were to create reception area, sales area, lounge, maintenance

area, storage, ADA compliant restroom etc.

Design idea and concept generation: Powerful motion of the bike and tubular steel trellis frame are the most important elements for the success of the Ducati brand. Inspired from these key factors, the concept was established as “motion with structure.”

Statement of Intent: The project explores an intent idea of ‘Transformation’ which applies to the design process. Transformation means, ‘change in form, appearance, nature, or character’ . In context of design, transformation can bring dramatic change in the form or appearance; one form can be transformed into another form and, by doing so, it changes the activity or function of the space.

Inspirations:

Project Vehicle : Elementary School What is the relation with the intent – ‘transformation’? • Transformation from one grade to another grade • Transformation of knowledge Some pointers which connect to the intent as under: Transformation of the space in terms of, • improving students productivity • changing activities • flexibility • Transformation of culture and knowledge

Coffee and cupcake shop design Client requirements: The client needed a unique design for the coffee shop. The shop should have

sales area with display for cupcakes, seating arrangement, washroom, kitchen counter and a store room.

Design concept: The idea for the design originated from the smooth creamy flow of chocolate cream.
