Interact is a club for youth ages 12-18 who want to connect with

other young people in their community or school.

Interact club members have fun while carrying out service

projects and learning about the world.

Interact organizes at least two service projects a year: one that benefits their

school or community and one that encourages international understanding.

Members should plan to meet approximately every 3 weeks or so – the

CHS requirement is at least 8 times a school year.

The club president along with the club officers should take initiative to lead and

plan the club activities.

Last year…

•2 Food drives • Treat bags for White Oak•UC Christmas Bureau Giving Tree•Warm Clothing Drive•Volunteered at Christ’s Closet•New Gen Peacebuilders – 5 students• Sole Hope project (needs to be completed)

The Waxhaw-Weddington Rotary Club sponsors us. Last year they contributed to our food drive,

clothing drive, Giving Tree, Sole Hope Project, and supplied our club shirts!

Club officers will be expected to reach out to the Waxhaw Rotary Club to explore sponsorship, make connections, get ideas, and seek ways to join the

two organizations.

We need to elect officers!

We need a President or Co-Presidents, aTreasurer, and a Secretary.

Role of President(s)…

•Explore service options for the members – both projects and volunteering outside of school•Run club meetings (prepare a presentation)and act on decisions that are made•Connect and collaborate with Rotary members to determine how we can help each other and then see that is accomplished

Role of Secretary…

•Communicate with members about meetings such as text reminders (Not Remind 101)

•Create and post club advertisements or meeting reminders around the building

•Catch up any members who miss meetings

Role of Treasurer…

•Remind members to pay dues

•Keep track of who has paid and what our club balance is

•Report the status of our account to the membersat each meeting

All Members

•Pay dues – the money funds our projects!•Help decide what projects we participate in and what we spend money on•Participate in projects•Get friends to join•Come to meetings and give ideas

Interested in running for an office?

Prepare a speech / presentation, etc. (your choice of whatever you think will impress!)

to present to the club on September 23 in our meeting after school.

We will vote at the end of that meeting.

There will be a Club Walk on September 17.

We may get additional interested students during that event.
