Economy
Rice cropping plays an important role in the economyIn 2010 Cambodia's per capita income is $2,470 and $1,040 in nominal per capita. Cambodia's per capita income is rapidly increasing but is low compared to other countries in the region.Most rural households depend on agriculture and its related sub-sectors. Rice, fish, timber, garments and rubber are Cambodia's major exports.
Based on the Economist, IMF: Annual average GDP growth for the period 2001–2010 was 7.7% making it one of the world's top ten countries with the highest annual average GDP growth.
China is the biggest source of foreign direct investment in the kingdom. China plans to spend $8 billion in 360 projects in the first seven months of 2011.It is also the largest source of foreign aid, providing about $600 million in 2007 and $260 million in 2008.

Tourism
The tourism industry is the country's second source after the textile industry. In 2007, visitor arrivals were about 2.0 million. The ministry of Tourism of Cambodia prepare to receive three million tourists in 2011 and five million in 2015.
Most visitors (51%) arrived through Siem Reap with the remainder (49%) through Phnom Penh and other destinations. Other tourist destinations include Sihanoukville in the south east which has several popular beach resorts and the area around Kampotand Kep including the Bokor Hill Station.
Most of the tourists were Japanese, Chinese, Americans, South Koreans and French people, it was report that, the industry earned 1400 million USD in 2007, almost 10% of the gross national products.

The rehabilitation program along AH1 from Phnom Penh to Neak Loeung and Neak Loeung Bridge at Lower Mekong River by Japan grant aid of $131M as follows:– Stage1: construction of 2 bridges of NR1
(completed in 2006).– Stage2: reconstruction of 43km of NR1 from
Neak Loeung to PK13 from Phnom Penh (completed).
– Stage3: reconstruction of the 9,1 km section to Phnom Penh PK 4, Completed.
– Stage 4: from PK4 to Monivong Bridge (MOU on project preparation signed on September 6, 2011).
– Neak Loeung cable stayed Bridge is under construction and expected to be finished in 2015.
