What Is NRIC?

• A Federal Advisory Committee chartered by the FCC

• Originally chartered in 1992 in the wake of major service

outages

– Subsequently rechartered five times

• Development and deployment of industry Best Practices

to promote network reliability and interoperability.

• Establish industry Best Practices to address external threats to communications infrastructure.

• Build on the reliability and interoperability work of previous NRICs by expanding membership to include more industry segments.
