Key aims of the independent Inquiry
1. Examine the current state of care quality in general practice.
2. Examine the current availability and use of data and information in general practice.
3. Suggest practical ideas and recommendations to promote quality improvement in general practice.
4. Set out the challenges for meeting the current and future quality agenda.
Inquiry phases
1. Research (April ’09-September ‘10)- What does high-quality care look like?
2. Validation (October ‘09-September ‘10) - focus groups, seminars, online discussions
3. Integration (February ’10-September ‘10) - examination of current measures
4. Reporting (September ’10-March ’11)- defining and measuring GP care quality, the future?
