TheobjectiveofthisfirstLightwoodCooperationForumistohighlightthepotentialoflightwood,topresent

Takingastepbeyondclassicalcommoditiesmeansgenerating innovativeproducts,generatingsynergieswith
other materials and exploring new possibilities. The lightwood in combination with other materials has
unsuspected properties. An example of using timber structures for high-rise buildings such as the "HoHo
Tower"inViennashowsthistremendouspotential.Thetowerwithaheightof84mwillbeerectedby2018.
Bynow,evenChinapushestoincreasewoodconstruction.Anewdirectivestatesthattheuseofwoodshould
beincreasedincontextssuchasrooftopextensions,curtainwalls,touristfacilities,schools,hospitalsandother
officialbuildings.
