REAPING GOD’S HARVEST 2014/2015

The Seventh-day Adventist Church is currently engaged

in a massive evangelistic outreach to impact six

hundred and fifty of the world’s major cities.

This initiative began one year ago with a comprehensive

evangelistic approach in four hundred locations in New York

City which resulted in thousands of church members equipped to

reach their friends and neighbors for Christ and 5,295 baptisms.

Ellen White adds these thought provoking words, “All are now deciding their eternal destiny. Men need to be aroused to realize the solemnity of the time, the nearness of the day when human probation shall be ended. Decided efforts should be made to bring the message for this time prominently before the people. The third angel is to go forth

with great power.” (Testimonies, vol. 6, p. 16.) 

WORDS OF JESUS 2000 YEARS AGO

Jesus statement, “…look at the fields for they are

already white for harvest” is as relevant

today as it was two thousand years ago. (John

4:35) 

This is our hour. Have you committed your life to service for Christ? Are you actively engaged in His mission to win lost

people?

Now is the time to become involved in witness and outreach. He has gifted you, is calling you and

commissions you to be his witness to your world.

INTEGRATED EVANGELISM LIFESTYLE

Integrated Evangelism Lifestyle is one of the most important things we

do in ministry. Unfortunately, we have so many other things demanding our attention that it is hard to find time to perfect our IEL by enrolling/forming

Intercessor Family, enlisting Cared Families and organizing Care Group.

INTEGRATED EVANGELISM LIFESTYLE

Therefore, we tend to rest on traditional approaches or popular

methods. Integrated Evangelism Lifestyle was created/initiated to

quickly guide churches and ministries who have little free time through the

foundational (and most important) elements of evangelism, nurturing, and

discipleship.

It is the desire of the Southern Asia-Pacific Division to train, and equip all of our members so we may all

work together to advance the kingdom. 

We want to see each member actively involved in sharing their

FAITH. .

Integrated Evangelism Lifestyle (IEL) is the comprehensive

strategy of the Southern - Asia Pacific Division to share the love of God through small groups, or

care groups.

Through Marketing Evangelism is the way to reach the whole

world 

EVANGELISM IS MARKETING

Many debate whether we should promote Jesus the same

way someone sells shoes or soap. Advertising has rightfully earned a bad reputation, which is one reason why we don’t like to hear the words “marketing”

or “advertising” connected with ministry.

However, let us not forget that ministry is about building

relationships, and a key to dynamic relationships is good communication with good

reputation. So, ministry often involves

marketing.

In addition, you are probably involved in some form of marketing or advertising

already. If you mail a weekly church bulletin, you are

actually involved in communication, marketing,

AND advertising, like it or not.

Don’t be afraid to think of what you are doing in terms of marketing or advertising as long as the end result is always honest ministry and

God’s glory.

WHY do Church ultimately Succeed in Evangelism?

They succeed... simply because they EXPECT to succeed... crystal-

clear expectations born from powerful clarity, conviction,

commitment and courage. As reaching people for Christ is born

from above.

So, WHY do Church ultimately fail in Evangelism?

The REASON is simple: People never really EXPECT to succeed in the first place... because they never even get

to the Starting Point for true and lasting success that will bring people

to the foot of the Cross.

HOW DOES THE HOLY SPIRIT EMPOWER BELIEVERS?

1. Transforming their Lives

We cannot "harness" the power of the Holy Spirit. This power is not just for preachers, evangelists, or people who work in special ministry; rather, it is available to every believer who willingly surrenders moment by moment in submission and obedience to the Holy Spirit.

“Or do you presume on the riches of his kindness and forbearance and patience, not knowing that God's kindness is meant to lead

you to repentance?”

Romans 2:4

“And Peter said to them, "Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus

Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive

the gift of the Holy Spirit.”

Acts 2:38

WE EXPERIENCE HIS POWER WHEN WE SURRENDER TO BE USED BY HIM. GOD RELEASES HIS POWER

THROUGH US AS WE WALK IN OBEDIENCE TO HIM.

HOW DOES THE HOLY SPIRIT EMPOWER BELIEVERS?

2. Giving them Divine Authority

Spiritual power is the divine energy, God is willing to express in

and through us and the divine authority needed to carry out the work

God has called us to do.

Matthew 28:18-20

• 18-And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.• 19-Go ye therefore, and teach all nations,

baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:• 20-Teaching them to observe all things

whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

WORK OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

•The Holy Spirit works in the world, convincing persons of sin and bringing them to repentance and faith, guiding them to fullness of life in Christ.

• The Holy Spirit is also present in the corporate life of the church, inspiring unity, worship and service. His presence is realized as the church is open and responsive to the Spirit's leadership.

WORK OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

• The Holy Spirit gives spiritual gifts to all believers according to His sovereign will and purposes. Scripture identifies a variety of gifts, given for the building up of the church and for ministry in the world.

• The Holy Spirit guides the church in setting apart persons for leadership. The church is responsible to discern and encourage the use of the gifts of the Spirit in its life and ministry.

The Holy Spirit intercedes for the believers in agreement with God's will.

a. He helps the children of God in their need, b. He cleanses and sets them apart for holy living, and c. He empowers them for service.

WORK OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

THREE WAYS HE RELEASES HIS POWER TO US ARE:

1. Through the fruit of the Spirit.

God's power and only God's power enables us to exhibit love, joy, peace, patience, goodness, kindness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control, which reveal the character of Christ in us.

2. Through witnessing.Scripture always refers to the

power of the Holy Spirit in relationship to witnessing and glorifying God. It is His power through us that emboldens us and carries out the work.

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in

Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the

end of the earth.“Acts 1:8

3. Through the work we are called to do God will not place you into a position or ask you to accomplish a task for which He will not fully equip and enable you

(Zechariah 4:6).

SOURCE OF POWER

“…This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel,

saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.”

Zechariah 4:6

WORK OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

The Holy Spirit is the Counselor who is always present with God's people and reminds us of all that Jesus said and did. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Truth who guides the believer, and serves as the guarantee of the eternal inheritance promised in Christ.

8 EASY WAYS TO BE MISSIONALBY JONATHAN DODSON • MAY 26, 2015

“As you go, make disciples….”; “Walk wisely towards outsiders”;

“Let your speech always be seasoned with salt”; “be

prepared to give a defense for your hope.” We can be missional

in everyday ways without overloading our schedules.

Missional is not an event we tack onto our already busy lives. It is our life. Mission should be the way we live, not something we add onto life.

8 EASY WAYS TO BE MISSIONAL

HERE ARE A FEW SUGGESTIONS

1. EAT WITH NON-CHRISTIANS.

We all eat three meals a day. Why not make a habit of sharing one of those meals with a non-Christian or with a family of non-Christians? Go to lunch with a co-worker, not by yourself. Invite the neighbors over for family dinner.

2. WALK, DON’T DRIVE.

If you live in a walkable area, make a practice of getting out and walking around your neighborhood, apartment complex, or campus. Instead of driving to the mailbox, convenience store, or apartment office, walk to get mail, groceries, and stuff.

3. BE A REGULAR.

Instead of hopping all over the city for gas, groceries, haircuts, eating out, and coffee, go to the same places. Get to know the staff. Go to the same places at the same times. Smile. Ask questions. Be a regular.

4. HOBBY WITH NON-CHRISTIANS.

Pick a hobby that you can share. Get out and do something you enjoy with others. Try city league sports. Local rowing and cycling teams. Share your hobby by teaching lessons. Teach sewing lessons, piano lessons, violin, guitar, knitting, tennis lessons. Be prayerful. Be intentional. Be winsome. Have fun. Be yourself.

5. TALK TO YOUR CO-WORKERS.

How hard is that? Take your breaks with intentionality. Go out with your team or task force after work. Show interest in your co-workers. Pick four and pray for

them. Form mom groups in your neighborhood

and don’t make them exclusively Christian. Schedule play dates with the

neighbors’ kids. Work on mission.

6. VOLUNTEER WITH NON-PROFITS.

Find a non-profit in your part of the city and take a Saturday a month to serve your city. Bring your neighbors, your friends, or your small group. Spend time with your church serving your city. Once a month. You can do it!

7. PARTICIPATE IN CITY EVENTS.

Instead of playing X-Box, watching TV, or surfing the net, participate in city events. Go to fundraisers, festivals,

clean-ups, summer shows, and concerts. Participate missionally. Strike

up conversation. Study the culture. Reflect on what you see and hear. Pray

for the city. Love the city. Participate with the city.

8. SERVE YOUR NEIGHBORS.

Help a neighbor by weeding, mowing, building a cabinet, fixing a car. Stop by the neighborhood association or apartment office and ask if there is anything you can do to help improve things. Ask your local police and fire stations if there is anything you can do to help them. Get creative. Just serve!

Don’t make the mistake of making “missional” another

thing to add to your schedule. Instead, make your existing

schedule missional to be witnesses to your home,

neighbors, community and nation.

IS THE PROCESS OF DEVELOPING A DISCIPLE ARE OFTEN ASSOCIATED

MOST CLOSELY WITH FOLLOWING. WE HEAR THE INVITATION OF JESUS,

“FOLLOW ME”

Follow Me – is an invitation for each one of us to follow

JESUS.

The disciples followed Jesus and they were forever changed.
