Child Identity Theft

• When personally identifying

require you to provide a

SSN in order for your child

to enroll

• Sport-related activities may

not require you to provide a

SSN

• Always get parents’ consent

before collecting PII from

their children

Preventative Measures

Credit Freezes

• As of Sept. 21 credit freezes are free

• For children younger than 16, you can create a credit file and freeze the credit report immediately
