Identified problem:• Supporting capabilities of home automation insufficiently known to
(starting) care providers: can not offer good advise to patients
Alleviation:• Integrate the theme ‘home automation’ in health care education
curricula by sensitizing and supporting the teachers
Activity:• Creation of teaching package ‘home automation’ and training workshops
(possibly also for care providers already active in the profession and/or policymakers in renovation or construction projects)

Two questionnaires:• Potential users of domotics (120 participants)
– Want to stay in their home as long as possible– Home automation linked to comfort, less to independent living– Insufficient knowledge – see it as too technical– Relate it mostly to security aspects
• Potential promoters of care domotics (care personel 10 centres + teachers
HUBKAHO) – Interested – Pleased to be involved – Need for training
