Current Opportunities
• Graduate and Business School students who have completed at least one year of studies
• Proficiency in the language of the host country• Applicants encouraged to apply before end of February
Work with an Ashoka Fellow or with Ashoka FEC staff in scaling HVCs. Locations available in Colombia, Brazil,
Mexico and India
CommitmentFull-time for a minimum of 10
weeks from June - August

Colombia • In 2006, Colombian Fellow Haidy Duque entered in a partnership with leading tile manufacturing company Colceramica to develop low-price, high quality tiles for low-income markets. Together, they created a new model for sales and promotion that brought a multi-million dollar business and generated over 256 new jobs for women who provided better quality of life for consumers living in low-income communities.
• Designed replication strategy to expand distribution of low cost high quality tiles to new cities
• Searched for innovations to improve the communities quality of life
• Designed strategy for search and selection ofnew CSOs acting as sales agents

serial entrepreneur, entered a partnership with British Petroleum to distribute biomass stoves to rural populations in Tamul Nadu, and to develop a new market.
• Review business plans from BP on distribution channel and biomass plants to RE-NEGOTIATE the agreement terms. This required strong financial/business planning and negotiation skills

a one-stop shop housing service center in Brazil. As part of its new housing model re-design in 2009 the team required support for engaging new financial institutions and other relevant partners for the scaling up stage.
• Expand our Housing pilot work in Brazil by catalyzing a partnership between a microfinance bank & a local CSO
• Wrote a case study of “how-tos” for implementing this type of partnership
