Early Childhood Education is society building, and you can be a part of this change. If you possess a caring attitude with a desire to make a difference, you will find a rewarding experience through our online and on-campus programs. You can be an essential part of a child’s early years, where learning through play is vital. Full- or part-time studies are available to suit all types of students’ lifestyles, and you can complete the program in a flexible time-frame.
In the certificate program, you’ll gain the skills you need to understand the basics of relational practice with young children. Once you have obtained a certificate, you may apply to the diploma program, which will teach you how to plan appropriate learning experiences as a key element in early childhood education. You will also receive a comprehensive introduction to child growth and development, curriculum planning and health as well as nutrition and safety, all from a family-centred approach.
You will learn from experienced instructors who will help you put the theories you learn into practice with hands-on experience gained through 98 days of practicum, focusing on children from birth to six years old. Your certificate or diploma in Early Childhood Education will give you more than a practical grounding in child development; it will provide you with the knowledge and experience you need for an enjoyable career working with young children.

In the heart of campus, an outdoor play space is used as a classroom for students to learn about children’s outdoor play.
I really enjoyed working with children my whole life and wanted to learn more about their development in order to support them. What I liked best about my college experience was getting hands-on experience while learning.”

Our innovative and accessible Educational Assistant certificate and diploma programs will give you the skills you need to help students reach their full educational potential. You will learn how to play an important role as part of a student’s educational team, working directly with students and supporting teachers in designing and implementing programs to help students maximize their school experiences. Some people consider that a job; people like you consider it a calling.
Your patience, creativity and understanding can make a difference in a student’s life – we will show you how and give you everything you need to get into the heart of this rewarding career. You will learn to help students who struggle with academics or who cope with behavioural issues, and you will come to understand and see past any disability to a child who needs some carefully designed assistance in an inclusive classroom setting. You will also spend time in field placements in your own geographical area, applying your skills and abilities in a real-world environment.
Become an Educational Assistant and experience the satisfaction of helping students overcome obstacles and achieve their full learning potential. Your expertise will be in high demand in schools, pre-school settings, early intervention programs, summer camps and agencies that specialize in working with children and youth.
We offer the program online to help get you started on your education in a location that works for you, with a flexible time-frame for completion.
