eLTE Core Network for Large Networks
Miniaturization and High IntegrationWith a goal of building SME networks, Huawei has designed the highly-integrated eSCN230 by combining a Home Subscriber Server (HSS), Serving Gateway (SGW), Mobility Management Entity (MME), and Packet Data Network Gateway (PDN-GW) into a 2U box. The eSCN230 is only 2U in height and lightweight, providing exceptional flexibility for low-density subscriber area deployments.
Dual Backup for High Reliability The eSCN230 supports dual backup operating mode to achieve high reliability. In dual backup mode, the two eSCN230s work in load-balancing mode to transmit user data, retaining active sessions for all connected users, while minimizing user data loss through the data plane traffic load-balancing feature. As a result, active connectivity maintenance increases system reliability.
Interconnection and InteroperabilityThe eSCN230 allows eLTE users to communicate with Terrestrial Trunked Radio (TETRA), Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) , and Public Land Mobile Network (PLMN) users and other external systems via connection with intersystem gateways. Benefiting from a high level of interoperability, organizations can build a unified communications system and perform voice and video services within the entire system.
The eSCN230 is a 2U LTE integrated Evolved Packet Core (EPC), which provides a compact, cost-effective broadband
trunking solution ideally suited for small and medium enterprises (SME) networks.

Professional Performance for First RespondersThe transfer of timely and accurate information is critical for the efficient dispatch of urgent resources. The EP680/EP650 professional trunking handset provides for a group call setup time of less than 300 ms and call pre-emptive time of less than 150 ms, guaranteeing timely response to any critical situation.
Live Video Improves Operational EfficiencyIn noisy environments, like airports or train stations, voice-only communication can be problematic when timely information is most critical. For such situations, trunking integrated voice and video was developed to help operating staff and field personnel get clear and complete information in real-time. In this case, on-scene personnel can transmit live video to command and control centers, and the video would then be dispatched to other colleagues for accurate reporting.
High Reliability in the Harshest Environments In contrast to the normal consumer market, industrial working conditions are invariably harsh and complex. The EP680/EP650 is
engineering to be waterproof and dustproof (IP67) and shockproof (MIL STD 810F) to withstand the toughest conditions and provide
the high levels of in-field durability that help to drive down lifecycle support costs.
Traditional trunking is used widely in vertical industries for normal operation. With the fast development of broadband
data, industries have an increasing need to integrate broadband data with professional trunking for better operational
efficiency and working experience. Based on an in-depth understanding of customers’ requirements, Huawei is
introducing the EP680/EP650 as a professional LTE broadband trunking handset. EP680/EP650 integrates voice, data,
and video services into a single device. Except for voice trunking, people can communication with each other using
video and GIS services at the same time, providing much better collaboration between response personnel. Additionally,
the incorporation of Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and other peripheral interfaces, allow the EP680/EP650 to better scale to support
more applications.
