Setting Up Your LinkedIn

1. Go to http://LinkedIn.com

2. Join LinkedIn Today section, enter your First Name, Last Name, and E-mail address, choose a password, and click "Join

Now."

3. Surfer, Let’s get your professional profile started section enter the information requested, then click "Create my

Profile."

3. See Who You All Ready Know on LinkedIn section

LinkedIn can search your E-mail account(s) for E-mail addresses of LinkedIn members (anyone you've sent or

received mail to/from). To do this you will be prompted to sign into your E-mail account from within LinkedIn. It will

then display a list of contacts you can decide whether or not to try to connect to in LinkedIn. If you want to do this,

sign into your E-mail account and click "Find Contacts." If you don't want to do this, click "Skip this Step."

5. If you allow LinkedIn to search your E-mail account you'll get this screen.

6. You’re Almost Done section

Now you can enter any E-mail addresses of people you want to invite to connect on LinkedIn.

7. Your Account is Set up – Choose Your Plan Level section

LinkedIn will try to sell you a premium account. To get started, choose the free basic account.

8. LinkedIn will ask again for your E-mail address to check for contacts.

9. OMG, they found a contact in 88surferdude88@gmail.com's address book! Click on "Send Invitations" if you want to

send an invitation (or invitations) to the contacts LinkedIn finds.

11. Begin editing your profile. Keep in mind your profile is your public face. You may update your profile at any time. It

is suggested that your profile be a snapshot of information on your resume; it should not be your resume. You want

people to contact you for more information.
