What is the difference between NHS and Private...

• NHS is free• Private is a business

• NHS has an incredible demand• Private have to promote another option to meet the demand

• NHS is a much larger organisation with external pressures that impact greatly at ground level

• Private you can create your own ecosystem and values

• NHS allows for greater opportunity for experiencing different areas • Private is usually more specialised, with some experience in other areas

• Both have their benefits... It’s down to you really

Working with kids seems fun.. But where do I start?

• Know your stuff

• Be prepared...Do some research!– Childhood development– Conditions – Handwriting/Concentration/FM/GM

Know where to look

• Search terms:– Paediatric/ children’s/ kids– Band 5/junior/newly qualified/ graduate– Occupational Therapist/ OT– Location
