What is The Ozone hole
How the ozone hole createsFreon is chemically passive substance, it reacts poorly with other chemical compound. However, because of the UV radiation influence, freon comes apart, among otherthings into chlorine. It’s the most dangerous for ozone layer, because it reacts stronglywith chlorine and exchange ozon (O3) into normal oxygen (O2).
Results of decay in ozone layer
Atmosphere absorbs very harmful radiation of UV for all organisms. Destroyingozone layer leads to the growth of radiation UV on the earth. The excess of UV rays can lead to changes in ecosystems. The ultra-violet radiation penetrates
in to several meters the water (in clean water Even more than ten meters).Because of this Plankton organisms die. Also population of fish which feed on plankton gets smaller. It leads to dying out of predatory fish.
Ultra-violet radiation affects on plants. Over 75% of plants react on UV rays. A great number of this plants is usedby industry. UV radiation can lead to the weakness
of economy. Fish's quantity will get smaller so fishermen will have smaller earnings. Chlorophyll of plants will be destroyed
so their quantity will get smaller and farmers will have less crop rasie. UV Radiator is unfavourable for humen to. People can defend these rays only in small degree. If UV radiator is too large, our resistance will be smaller for infection or disease. Dangerous disease it tumours, particularly melanoma of skin. Effect of UV radiator come to aging of skin.
If we produce harmful gas like Freon, ozone hole will enlarge and it can appear on the whole earthly sphere. Finally it causes not only the hole but total disappearance of ozone in atmosphere.
The ways of slowing down the widening of the ozone hole
Ozone hole was noticed quite late, but immediately there was understood
the seriousness of situation and undertook some activities to prevent it:
1987 – The International Montreal Minutes signed. There countries oblige
to reduction production dangerous gases about 50% to year 2000.
1990 – The International Act signed – Protecting our atmosphere by prohibition
of Freon’s production
Cosmetic industry resigns from the use of Freon’s in deodorant. Probably
the prohibition will remove all dangerous gases from our atmosphere in 50 years.
It is possible that The Ozone hole will slowly reduce till the year 2065. After that
the Ozone Hole should disapeared.
