Inbound Marketing is just the fancy name to sell SEO services

NO! It’s not!

SEOSearch engine optimization is a methodology of strategies, techniques and tactics used to increase the amount of visitors to a website by obtaining a high-ranking placement in the search results page of a search engine (SERP) -- including Google, Bing, Yahoo and other search engines.

Inbound Marketing

Inbound marketing is the promotion of a company or other organization through blogs, podcasts, video, eBooks, newsletters, whitepapers, SEO, physical products, social media marketing, and other forms of content marketing which serve to attract customers through the different stages of the purchase funnel.

SEO and Inbound Marketing is not same…

As an SEO, your job is to acquire the most targeted traffic back to the website.

As an Inbound guy, your job is to acquire the most targeted traffic back to the website and later nurture that traffic and convert them into leads and conversions for the business.

Myths about SEO & Inbound Marketing

Content Creation:

We write blog posts in SEO. And Inbound Marketing is heavily influenced by content creation… so its same right?

NO!

Blog posts in SEO are mainly used to target long-tail keywords as its easy to rank well in search engines and gain low but targeted traffic back to the website.

In Inbound Marketing content creation process at every stage is different and the main reason of creating a content is to walk potential customer though the buyer’s journey.

Social Media:

Social media indirectly affect SEO positively and Inbound Marketing is incomplete without social media… so its same right?

First, Social Media do not have a direct impact on SEO. There is a study that says that high social share of content correlate better rankings but that can be because of other reasons and not social media directly.

In Inbound Marketing, Social Media works as a bridge between potential customers, fans and a brand. The idea is to resolve customer queries, problems and questions to build a positive brand image within the audience.

Inbound Marketing is not the alternative name to SEO…. Instead, SEO contributes to Inbound.

Sure it is…
