HOLMAN PLACE PUBLIC SCHOOL

NEWSLETTER

TERM 4 WEEK 2, 2017

From the Principal

Welcome to the first

newsletter for Term 4. I

hope that everyone has

settled into the term and

is engrossed in what has

already been and will

continue to be a very

busy end to 2017.

I encourage all members

of our learning commu-

nity to take the oppor-

tunity to provide some

feedback through our

2017 Holman Place

School community sur-

vey. Your thoughts will

help guide us in creating

our next school plan for

the 2018 – 2020 planning

cycle. The survey and

further information can

be found inside your

newsletter.

Congratulations to all of

the junior students that

attended Dream Cricket

in Young last week.

From all reports, the day

was a success and the

students represented the

school proudly.

This coming Wednesday,

25th October, the Cow-

ra branch of RDA will be

hosting an Open Day.

Holman Place has a very

strong relationship with

Cowra RDA and I

encourage parents and

carers to take the op-

portunity to come along

and view the excellent

program that our

students participate in

weekly.

There have been numer-

ous cases of students

feeling ill during the start

of term. Please refer to

the chart included inside

to assist in making a de-

cision as to whether or

not your child should

attend school when pre-

senting as feeling unwell.

A big welcome to our

two new students who

have joined us this term.

Kayden and Caelan are

already immersed in the

Holman Place School

community. They have

both settled in really well

and are assets to our

school.

During this week we had

the pleasure of welcom-

ing our Director of edu-

cation, Mr Duncan Auld

to Holman Place. Mr

Auld was very impressed

with all of the happen-

ings within the school

and enjoyed the oppor-

tunity to have a tour and

chat to some students

and staff.

Well done to all our

students and staff on

their successes at the

Cowra Show. Everyone

should be very proud of

their efforts and a special

congratulations to all of

the students that won

prizes.

Regards,

Mr Toohey

A BIG welcome to

Kayden and Calaen

Wombats

What a busy start to the

term the Wombats have

had, beginning with

Dream Cricket last

week. Unfortunately we

had a couple of

Wombats away on the

day but Wade and Ollie

made sure they had an

amazing day none the

less. Both boys should

be very proud of how

they represented HPS.

Well done boys!

Last week were also

very busy preparing our

items for the Cowra

Spring Show to be on

display. We had entered

our ‘astronauts’ and

decorated biscuits in the

show, as well as our

display board with all

our creat ive and

colourful art and craft

for the school stall. Well

done to Oliver on

receiving 3rd place for

his astronaut mixed

media craft.

Finally, a great big and

friendly welcome to our

n e w e s t W o m b a t ,

Kayden. Kayden has

settled in nicely in the

Wombats, making new

friends and enjoying our

morning circle activities.

Good stuff Kayden!
