History of Housing Development in Sistan Ancient Region

In southeastern Iran, in Sistan-Baluchistan province, a region called Sistan, which is always in terms of archaeological interest. In the late last century there were three types of housing in Sistan region. The first types were black tents used by dairy farmers and migrant tribes which was made by black goat hairs in different sizes and woven by nomads. The second type though indicates mood and nature of Sistan were clay Vogel’s houses with a domed roof and tall wind on the roof ceiling is characterized Sistan local architecture. This style has become popular and regardless of the large or small in all villages and it used also by all segments. The third category can be applied to imarets that used by rulers and elders which were almost Savavid styles. With the foreigners like British and Russian influence and also office and residential constructed buildings by the particular type of building with polygonal bases, rooms, halls with thick break walls that painted in white to prevent sever heat of the sun were created. Three or four decades ago with the architectural style of new buildings across the country using innovative technologies in the Sistan became common. Today, modern construction technologies used in the Sistan region.
This paper examines the types of housing will be addressed in Sistan and give examples, the evolution of housing and housing types are also classified in the Sistan region will be studied.
