a) Dr RC Patel objected to the spirit under point number 10 of the minutes. He expressed unhappiness about people having objection to displaying the donors’ names from medical community. President expressed that these are individual opinions of some members, but everyone agreed that the donors’ and the commitment made to them have to be respected.
b) Dr Khatter, Rajinder Goel, Mahendra Patel, Sanjay Moudgil and Sushil Sharma participated in the discussion, and it was decided to move to the next point in the discussion.

clarified that there are some supplies such as paper cups and plates which were part of that expense – also Kirit clarified that receipts for donations in kind are in that category. It was suggested that the host families be asked a fixed amount to recover the cost of supplies. After discussion it has been agreed that it may be counterproductive as the host families usually donate money in addition to hosting.
b) There was a question on Diwali Mela revenues this year on food stall and Swatantar Parbhaker clarified that it is due to change in the accounting practice from the previous Board to the present board and this will be corrected moving forward. Satish Kumar said that he brought idea of bringing some food supplier to provide free food in Diawali mela- but President said that neither himself nor any of the other members handling Diwali mela knew about such proposal- if there is such proposal, President said that the BOG is likely to consider favorably and asked Satish Kumar to bring such written proposal in time for next time.
c) Question on Telephone expenses have been clarified that those include the charges for extra lines for alarm and also for internet.
d) There was a discussion on the donations and pledges are not being properly separated in the accounting books and it has been clarified by Swatanter Parabhaker and Shipra Varma that this will be improved moving forward.

PRESIDENT’S REPORT
Dear Members:
As my two years term comes to an end, I would like to thank all the members of the Management Committees and Board
of Trustees for their cooperation throughout last two years. The dedication and sincerity shown by the members of both
the Management Committees made my work lot easier. They deserve all the credits for managing under very challenging
environment. I have nothing but praise for the Chairpersons of both the temples who have cooperated all along.
We had a very good response to our fundraising dinner held last April. I would like to thank all the sponsors and donors.
Our special thanks to the major donor of the event – Shakuntalaben and Dr. R. C. Patel of Gimli.
As we have been announcing at both the temples, new murties of Shri Laxmi Narayan ji and Shri Ganeshji have been
ordered from Jaipur, India. They will be installed at our temple on the Ellice Avenue. At present they are at Mumbai port
for onward shipment to Vancouver and to the final destination – Winnipeg. We thank Dr. Ganapat Lodha ji for his help in
this project. We will inform you of the progress from time to time.
Finally, a long awaited KALASH project has been revived. We have signed a Purchase Agreement with a manufacturer
in USA who has made and supplied KALASH to more than 40 temples throughout USA. We hope to have the KALASH
installed latest by early fall of this year. We would like to thank you for your patience.
I would like to thank members of the Puja Committees at both the temples for the enthusiasm shown in organizing vari-
ous religious festivals throughout the year. I salute their commitment and dedication. Please keep it up.
Dr. Madhri Jain Vidya Bhavan has grown steadily over last number of years. It started with classes in Hindi language,
religion and culture. Now it offers classes in various languages and also in Maths and Sciences. Last year’s Science Fair
was outstanding. It was a pleasant surprise to see so many young generous minds presenting their projects. We would
like to sincerely thank the principal of the school Mrs. Suvira Prashar and her team of very dedicated volunteer teachers
who are sacrificing their time every Sunday afternoon.
I would like to thank you for giving me an opportunity to serve you as the President of the Hindu Society of Manitoba for
the fourth term. It has been a humbling experience and I have learnt a lot from my years with the Society. I have tried my
best according to my ability to carry out my duties as the president. Last but not least, I would like to thank my family
and friends who stood by me and supported me all along.

REPORT OF THE CHAIRPERSON OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES
On behalf of the members of The Board of Trustees, I would like to thank the Hindu Society of Manitoba for giving an opportunity to serve The Hindu Society Trust Corporation.
All the Board of Trustees have been cooperative to function at the best of our ability along with The Board of Governors, under the guidelines provided by the Trust Deed to look after the Capital assets, and the Financial Resources of the Society.
After the AGM 2014, the Board of Trustees approximately met every six to eight weeks for the meeting. The Board of Trustees discussed, at these meetings, if any structural changes and trust finances were needed in both the Hindu Tem-ples. The main project undertaken in 2014-2015 was interior and exterior painting at the Ellice Temple. A discussion was held about better use of the Ellice Temple Library, which is not used very frequently, to increase the eating area space in the basement.
This year a large fundraiser event was successfully organized and I will leave that up to my president Mr. Bhadresh Bhatt to elaborate for the funds obtained.
At present the current bank balance of the trust account is $153,069.44.
I would like to thank all members of the Board of Trustees for support and dedication and it has been my privilege to work with each one of them.
Respectfully submitted
Yours sincerely

VIDYA BHAVAN REPORT
Dr. Madhuri Jain Vidya Bhavan has become a vital component of our society. It has been providing a platform for cul-tural and spiritual growth for the youth of our community.
On May 10th 2014, the school hosted a competition for Grade 4 to 12 students with a central theme of Historical Hindu Monuments. The event was a great success and as quoted by Dr. Rao Atmuri one of this event’s judges “The Hindu Society through its Vidya Bhavan has provided an opportunity for the youngsters to learn and explore about Hin-duism and its influence in and outside India. The Hindu Society has shown true leadership in preparing its youth and in this regard this event is indeed monumental.”
In June 2014 the school organized its annual year end function highlighting individual awards and a talent show to recognize achievements of our students. The following students were the winners of the awards:

In the fall our 2014 session started with over 120 students enrolled for various classes. Students from Hindi language gave their energetic performance at Diwali Mela. My sincere thanks to Shipra Verma and all the parents who helped in preparing the dance performance. Over the year the students have been encouraged to prepare and search topics related to our festivals and they have presented them in front of the congregation during Sunday satsang.
A group of students also enthusiastically participated in India’s Republic day celebration organized by the society’s senior members at Hindu Senior Centre where they presented dance and gave a speech.
Having parental support and very dedicated and enthusiastic volunteers made this year fulfilling and memorable. The Vidya Bhavan teachers greatly appreciate support from the community and the board members. Currently the school provides math coaching for grade 7 to 12 under guidance of Dr. R .Padmanabhan. The school also provides the opportunity to learn Tamil (Co-ordinator C.Kamaleswaran), Nepali (Co-ordinator Dr.Purushottam Singh) and Telagu (Co-ordinator: Rukmini Kota). I would like to thank all the co-ordinators for their generous time, wisdom and support.
I express my gratitude to Hindi language group teachers Sanjay Moudgil, Manjit Kumar, Aruna Parbhakar and Renuka Thackar for the enthusiastic suppor and Meenal Moudgil for being our substitute teacher. I would also like to thank Gnanesh Nanjappa for his yoga lessons which the students have enjoyed.
