OVERVIEW Featured Products Extension allows you to define your featured products and helps to drive more customers’ attention to your most profitable products in the Magento web-store. This extension will definitely boost your revenue opportunities by attracting the customer’s interest in your products that you want them to buy.

Installation Steps
• Create full backup of your site (both files and database)
• !!!VERY IMPORTANT!!! Go to admin panel -> System -> Tools -> Compilation and
make sure that Compiler Status is disabled. If it's not, please change it to disabled.
If you plan to use the compilation after installing the extension, please click 'Run
Compilation Process' button after you complete the extension installation.
• Copy files to the magneto root folder, log in as admin and refresh all caches (System
> Cache Management)
• Go to Admin Panel>>CMS>>Pages>>[Home Page]>>Content
and paste following line

On the page where you want to apply offer set the newly added attributes

Installation Steps 1. Clear the store cache under var/cache and all cookies for your store domain.
2. Disable compilation for Magento 1.4+. Log into Magento Admin Panel and
go to System → Tools → Compilation and disable the compilation.
Be sure that the Compilation Сode is disabled (System->Tools --
>Compilation)

Installation Steps 3. Disable JS & CSS merging
Navigate to System->Configuration->Developer Tab and disable "Merge
css / js". We suggest that you enable error reporting.

Installation Steps 4. Upload file manually
If you use a different from default theme - be sure to rename app/design/frontend/default/default and skin/frontend/default/default folders to your store's values. Using your FTP client upload content to your store root.

Then navigate to System->Cache Storage Management and and clear
Cache.
Do select and Refresh it by pressing submit button
6. Log out then log back in to your admin panel.

Featured Products Configuration
1. Go to the System >> Configuration >>Brainvire >>Featured Products back end page.
2. The General section allows specifying settings of the label displayed on the Product page:
In the Heading field, set [Featured Products].
In the Heading Of CMS Block field, give the heading [Featured Products]
In the Meta Title field, give the heading [Featured Products]
The Meta Description give the description of the module.
In the Meta Keywords field, enter the text [featured, products]
In the Layout field, select appropriate layout
In the Sort by in Main Block field, select the option as by which you want to sort the featured product list [Random/ Last Added]
In the Number of Items in Main Block field, enter the number [5]
In the Number of Items per row in Main Block field, enter the number of items in each row [3]
In the View field, select how you want to see the featured product list [Grid/Slider]

Adding Individual Product to Featured Products The Featured Products extension adds an option in the Product Information panel – General.
1. Go to the Catalog >> Manage Products back end page and click the required
product.
2. In the Product Information page, open the General section.
3. In the Featured Product field, set Yes.

The Featured Products extension adds an option in the Catalog Tab –
1. Go to the Catalog >> Featured Products back end page
2. Click on the check boxes in front of the products you want to show in
featured product list
3. Click on Save Featured Products

Uninstall
To force Magento uninstall the module. Then replace <active>true</active> with <active>false</active> in the following files: app/etc/modules/Brainvire_FeaturedProducts.xml
