Local Update
Policing Priorities
The Chester South Beat Management priorities over the next month will be to provide high visibility patrols in public places for public re-assurance. In particular patrols will increase in Westminister Park due to a number of incidents of criminal damage and anti-social behav-iour from youths.
The Summer school holiday period traditionally attracts an increase in youth related and general anti-social behaviour. Chester LPU has designated Saturday 22nd July 2017 until Tuesday 5th September 2017 inclusive (CW&C School Summer Holidays are 26th July until 1st September) to manage anti-social behaviour (ASB) reductions, problem solving approaches, community engagement and reassurance.
The types of behaviour displayed can range from low level nuisance to drinking, criminal damage and general low level public order incidents. In response to these foreseen issues Chester LPU will be implementing a multi-faceted partnership approach. The policing oper-ation is Operation Argent.
This partnership approach will build on the success of previous ASB operations over previ-ous school holidays which resulted in sustained reductions in the numbers of ASB incidents reported to the Police and CW&C Community Safety Wardens.
The main focus of this summer operation will be a programme of community engagement activities to occupy young persons with a particular focus on those known to engage in anti-social behaviour. The engagement activities will include Panna football and youth service activities provided by CW&C and partner agencies.

Chester LPU Football Tournament
On the 6th July 2017 Chester Local Policing unit organised a football tournament for local
primary schools. The tournament was held at Chester Catholic High School, Handbridge.
The tournament was for children in years 5 and 6. 11 Schools attended with over 100
children. The tournament was a great success with our local offers refereeing and also ably
assisted by CSW’S from CWAC. Hoole C of E were overall winners of the tournament and
were presented with the large trophy at the end by PCSO Davies. We would like to thank
Catholic High School for the use of their facilities for this event.
PCSO Bartlett also attended this event to support local schools on his beat area. PCSO Bart-
lett decided that during the event he had witnessed a fine example of continuous sporting
behaviour from one of the pupils at St Werburgh’s. During PCSO Bartlett’s own time and
with his own money Keith purchased a trophy for the winner Eva Hockenhull. He then
attended St Werburgh’s School to present the trophy to a very surprised Eva. Congrats !
