• born July 30, 1863, on a farm in Greenfield Township, Michigan.

• Father is William Ford

• Mother is Mary Litogot Ford

• Is of Belgian decent

• Died April 7, 1947

Early Life

• His father gave him a pocket watch in his early teens

• At 15, Ford dismantle and reassemble the pocket watch

• Gained reputation as a watch repairman

• Mother died in 1876

• Left home at 1879 to work as an apprentice mechanic ic Detroit,Michigan

Family

• Youngest child in family

• Has 4 elder siblings(Margaret Ford,Jane Ford,William Ford,and Robert Ford).

• married Clara Ala Bryant in 1888 and supported himself by farming and running a sawmill

• Had one child named Edsel Ford

Career

• In 1891, Ford became an engineer with the Edison Illuminating Company.

• Promoted to chief engineer and left the company to pursue his mechanic career

• Built the Ford Quadricycle with the help of Thomas Edison

• Thomas Edison helped Henry Ford create his own company named Ford Motor Company

Ford Motor Company

• Ford & Alexander Y. Malcomson was reincorporated as the Ford Motor Company on June 16, 1903

• The original investors were Ford and Malcomson, the Dodge brothers, Malcomson's uncle John S. Gray, Malcolmson's secretary James Couzens, and two of Malcomson's lawyers, John W. Anderson and Horace Rackham.

Model T• The first car to be created in mankind was the “Model T” by Henry

Ford• The car was created in only black color• The car was cheap and affordable from the creation of the

assembly line• Soon went out of business from lack of style from the color of the

car only being black

• Created by Henry Ford in the early 1900’s during the industrial evolution

• Made cars become cheaper and affordable to most of the human population

• Still used today for many productions in many products, not just in machines

• One of the main reasons of why products today cost less than what it should cost
