Theareaistraversedbyanallweatherroadandpowerline,whichservicestheEagleRiverGoldMineandmillattheMagnaconDeposit. ThebeltcontainsalloftheimportantgeologicalfeaturescommonlyassociatedwithestablishedArcheangoldcamps.

Thisarea(60kmradius)oftheWawaSubprovincehasseenproductionofapproximately25millionouncesofgoldinthelast20years. MostoftheseouncescamefromtheHemlogoldmines(~100Mt@8.0gptAu),wherepresentproductionaccountsfor1/3ofOntario'sand1/5ofCanad a'stotalproductionofgold.

GoldexplorationwasinitiatedintheMishibishuareaafterthediscoveryofHemloin1981. HundredsofnewgoldoccurrenceswerediscoveredwiththemostsignificantbeingtheEagleRiverDeposit(~2.4Mt@10.0gptAu),MishiDeposit(1.4Mt@4.2gptAu)andtheMagnaconDeposi t (1.4Mt@6.5gptAu).
