Heating with natural heat
Heat pumps:Heating and cooling with energy provided by mother nature
This brochure will give you information about one of the most futureproof and environmentally
responsible heat sources that exists – Viessmann heat pumps. Whether you want to use
energy from the ground, groundwater or the air with a heat pump, you will definitely reduce
your consumption of fossil fuels, protect valuable resources and lower emissions.
However, the environmentally responsible operation of Viessmann heat pumps is not a
one-way street. If you burn less oil, gas or wood, your fuel costs are naturally reduced as well.
Viessmann heat pumps have an additional "dual function" benefit. They provide heat in winter
and ensure a pleasant atmosphere in summer. With the natural cooling function, they bring
refreshing coolness into the house on hot days.
Our wide product range offers you the right heat pump, whatever your needs – according to
your own particular plans, your heat demand, and structural and geological conditions. What's
more, this isn't just suitable for new build. You can also use a Viessmann heat pump in a
modernisation project, and combine it with an oil or gas fired heating system if you wish.

Introduction
Saving energy and protecting the climate
Viessmann is aware of its responsibility for the sustained protection of the environment. Its company philosophy and products are oriented towards this duty.
Viessmann offers you energy-
efficient heating systems for
oil, gas, solar, wood and natural
heat. The pictograms and
motifs will help to guide you.
"Nothing is so good that it cannot be
improved." This maxim is at the heart of
the company's principles. In this industry,
Viessmann can rightfully claim to be the
leader in quality and technology, and as such,
aims to continually set new standards.
Of course, this applies in particular to
their product range, which is consistently
geared towards significantly lowering the
consumption of fossil fuels, and gradually
replacing them with renewable sources
of energy.
At around 40%, the heating market actually
accounts for the largest proportion of energy
consumption. The rest is shared by goods
transport, personal transport and power, with
20% each. These are values that can also
be applied, to some extent, to other industrial
countries. Ever-rising energy costs mean that
the emphasis is on reducing the consumption
of fossil fuels as quickly as possible.
Heat from nature
A heating system from Viessmann
Heat pumps should be your first choice if your
priorities are both to save on heating costs and
to generate heat in an environmentally
responsible way. After all, the environment
gives us an unlimited supply of the energy a
heat pump uses. What's more, it's free of
charge. This fully competent heating system
requires only the costs of electricity for
operating and running the pump. It makes you
independent of fossil fuels, plus you make an
active contribution towards reducing CO2
emissions and protecting the climate.
As a pioneer in the field of heat pumps,
Viessmann has been setting standards in
efficient energy utilisation and long service life
for 30 years with its advanced systems. This
means you also benefit from our many years of
experience as a supplier of comprehensive
heating systems.
Whether for modernisation or new build:
Viessmann has the right solution for you too!

Compression process
Ground temperature all year roundbetween 5 °C and 18 °C (at 2 m depth)
65 °C
Introduction
Simple principle, great result
The technical principle of a heat pump is similar to that of a fridge – it's just turned the other way round.
In a fridge, heat is transferred from the inside
to the outside. With a heat pump, this happens
exactly the other way round. The heat from
outside – e.g. from the ground – is transferred
via the heating system to the inside, into
the living space. To raise the temperature, a
refrigerant vapour is compressed until the
temperature for central and DHW heating
is reached. With the Vitocal 350 and
Vitocal 350-A, this can even be up to 65 °C.
This means these heat pumps can also be
used for modernisation projects, not just on
new builds.
Very efficient scroll compressor
The compression process is vital for the
efficiency of a heat pump. Viessmann, uses
Compliant scroll compressor that comprise
two scrolls which continually compress the
heat transfer medium. As with a bicycle pump,
the temperature also rises with the pressure.
This ensures efficient temperature raising
from the cold side (the heat source on the
outside) to the hot side (the heating circuit in
the building).
Compliant scroll compressors as used by
Viessmann operate quietly and with low
vibrations, are maintenance free and
extremely durable.
Photovoltaic panels – a smart extension
Advanced heat pumps take around three
quarters of the energy required for heating
from the environment. Electricity is only
needed to drive the compressor and pump.
However, a part of this electrical energy is also
converted into heat and thus can be used for
heating purposes. When power generated
from renewables is used, then all your heating
energy can be drawn from renewables. Power
supply utilities sometimes offer this option
especially for heat pumps.
A heat pump can use the following
energy sources
Air as energy source:
Practically unlimited availability; lowest
investment costs
Ground as energy source:
Via geothermal collector or geothermal probe;
very efficient
Water as energy source:
Extremely efficient; observe water quality
Waste heat as energy source:
Subject to availability, volume and temperature
level of the waste heat
The best heat source for an individual case
depends on local conditions and the actual
heat demand.
Getting hotter towards the centre: From an initial temperature
between 5 and 18 °C, a flow temperature of up to 65 °C
is achieved.

Vitocal heat pumps from Viessmann utilise the
natural heat the environment makes available
to us. It is unlimited and free. This puts this
heating technology amongst the most
economical and clean of all options for
heat generation.
If you wish, you can also use either wind, solar
or water to provide the power necessary to
operate the heat pump.
By doing this, you will protect valuable
resources, and prevent emissions.

Heat pumps Vitocal 200-G
Are you building, or planning to build, a
detached house? Then Viessmann has the
heat pump solution, that will win you over
with its powerful output and surprise you
with its price. The Vitocal 200-G makes the
utilisation of renewables very attractive –
particularly for detached houses, as its output
is matched to the respective demand.
Save yourself the heating bills
An investment in a Viessmann heat pump such
as the Vitocal 200-G is always worthwhile
because you won't have to pay for any more
fuel from day one. From now on, the energy
you use to generate heat comes free, from
right outside your door. Furthermore, the
power used for this is utilised extremely
efficiently. From one kilowatt of power, the
heat pump generates between 3 and 4 kW
of heat.
A good investment for the future
Durability is one of the features that makes
all Viessmann heat pumps stand out. The
materials used must comply with the most
stringent of demands, and strict quality
conditions are applied right through
manufacture. This will pay off for you, for
example, the refrigerant circuit is hermetically
sealed and therefore requires no maintenance.
The environment benefits too
It's good to know that heat pumps significantly
reduce CO2 emissions every day whilst they
provide central and DHW heating. After all,
no fossil fuels are used here. This means
you protect valuable natural resources, and
by purchasing a Vitocal 200-G, you also
make a personal contribution to active
climate protection.
Two heating circuits for individual
heating convenience
The convenient brine/water heat pump
can supply everything you need for using a
heat pump in a new detached house. The
weather-compensated, digital heat pump
control unit allows two separate heating
circuits to be connected.
High flow temperature
Through innovative technology employing
the efficient Compliant scroll compressor,
the Vitocal 200-G achieves a maximum flow
temperature of 60 °C. This means you are
not tied to an underfloor heating system.
You can also use radiators for transferring
heat into the living space; heating DHW is
also more convenient.

Full output even in winter
With its output spectrum of 6.4 to 9.6 kW,
the Vitocal 200-G in mono-mode operation
guarantees convenient heat supply all year
round. This means even in winter when it gets
really cold outside, you'll be snug and warm
inside – and without a booster heater.
Why a heating system in summer?
For cooling, naturally!
When it's hot outside in summer, you can
make the room pleasantly cool with your
Vitocal heat pump. Switch to natural cooling.
This means that, by simply running the
circulation pumps, the heat from inside your
house is transferred to the ground. All you
need to use the Vitocal's handy extra natural
cooling function is an NC Box.
Installation and assembly made easy
The Vitocal 200-G is supplied with integral
brine and heating circuit pumps, diverter valve
and fitted safety assembly. Handling the
Vitocal 200-G is no problem, since the casing
and heat pump module are delivered separately.
Installation on site is child's play, as all the
connections are at the top. This also means the
heat pump can be installed close to the wall
without needing clearances. Optional temporary
installation of an electrical booster heater, for
example for screed drying , is an added bonus if
you need it.

When you are designing and building a new
home and want to make sure that you won't
be using more energy than you have to,
you won't find anything better than the
Vitocal 222-G or Vitocal 242-G. These two
Compact Energy Towers are an optimum
solution for anyone who values innovative
building engineering and architecture, and
therefore chooses a low energy house. You
use renewable energy that protect the
environment and genuinely save you money
every heating season.
Multi-talented for low energy houses
With the Vitocal 222-G and Vitocal 242-G, the
designation Compact Energy Towers says it all.
They contain everything a fully competent
energy source for a low energy house needs, i.e.
a powerful brine/water heat pump, a large DHW
cylinder with 250 litre capacity and the digital
CD 70 heat pump control unit with user prompts.
The Vitocal 242-G also includes everything you
need to integrate a solar thermal system.
High performance in the smallest of spaces
Space is particularly scarce in urban areas –
especially in new build. So it's good news if
you have a good all-rounder in the house for
central and DHW heating, which has a tiny
footprint. The Vitocal 222-G or Vitocal 242-G
Compact Energy Towers have squeezed
their innovative technology into the smallest
of spaces. You need a floor area of just
600 x 677 mm (width x depth). Large
clearances to the side or the back are not
necessary either – the well thought-out
connection technology takes care of that.
Always looking to the future
Building with energy awareness is an
investment in the future. This primarily applies
to the protection of valuable fossil fuel
resources. However, it is also relevant to ask
whether the heating system will still meet the
latest technical standards that will apply in the
next few years. With our Compact Energy
Towers, you can rely on both – you use
renewable energy from the environment and
thus minimise CO2 emissions.

Vitocal 300-GHeat pumps
With the Vitocal 300-G brine/water or water/
water heat pumps, you will be choosing an
expert for detached houses. It utilises heat that's
right on your doorstep. What's more, you call the
shots, selecting the output from 6.2 to 21.6 kW.
This makes a heating appliance available to you
that is both efficient and effective . It will cover
the reliable and convenient provision of central
and DHW heating.
Heat from the ground or groundwater
You can choose how you get heat from the
ground with the brine/water version. This is
done either via a geothermal probe or via a
geothermal collector, that is laid at a depth of
approx. 1.5 m. In both cases, the heat pump
covers the entire heat demand, even on colder
days. Subject to the location of your house, it
may also be possible to utilise the latent heat
in groundwater. For this, the Vitocal 300-G is
simply converted to operate as a water/water
heat pump – and delivers the highest COP in
this operating mode.
Tightly packed performance
The Vitocal 300-G (type BWC/WWC) proves
its worth through its particularly compact
design. It contains everything including both
circulation and heating circuit pumps and a
safety assembly with safety valve, pressure
gauge and air vent valve, all fitted at the
factory. The clever integration of these
components saves space and already covers
all the most important applications. An electric
booster heater is available as an accessory.
Greater heat demand?
No problem for the Vitocal 300-G
For buildings with a very high heat demand,
the two-stage Vitocal 300 is the right choice.
It achieves a heating output of 12.8 to 134 kW
(as a cascade). Here, you also have the choice
between the groundwater or the ground as the
heat source.
VITOCAL 300-G
With the Vitocal 300-G, you utilise the renewable heat from the ground or groundwater – and do so in a tiny space, because this heat pump is designed to be particularly compact. Inside the casing of models BWC/WWC, the circulation pump, heating circuit pump and three-way diverter valve are already integrated.

Simple user interface: The digital WPR 300 control unit with user prompts displays an overview of
the system configuration with temperature details. In addition, it enables remote monitoring and
remote control with Vitocom and Vitodata.
Powerful, quiet and reliable
The heart of the Vitocal 300-G is its powerful
Compliant scroll compressor. It proves its
worth through excellent reliability, safety and
particularly quiet operation. The hermetic seal
and dual anti-vibration mounts are among the
reasons for this. At the same time, the
Compliant scroll compressor ensures the
highest performance factors and flow
temperatures up to 60 °C.
Environmentally responsible
in every respect
As well as using renewables, the Vitocal 300-G
uses R 407 C, a CFC-free, non-flammable and
biodegradable process medium, making it
completely environmentally responsible.
Backup from the sun
An advanced heating system should include
innovative solar technology. Make use of free
solar energy to back up your heat pump.
Viessmann offer you a system that is a perfect
match for the Vitocal 300-G.
Perfect for higher output levels too
Even for greater heat demand, the Vitocal 300-G
is the right choice. In addition, several separate
heat pumps can be linked via the heating flow
and return. This does not just deliver the
required high heat output, but also increases
the operational reliability of the entire system.
The modular construction with separate
compressor circuits also ensures particularly
high efficiency in the partial load range, and
enables simultaneous operation of central and
DHW heating.

system. In the Vitocal 300-G, it is responsible
for permanently monitoring the refrigerant
circuit and the available output. This means it
will always give you the ideal output and the
highest level of efficiency at every operating
point. The energy statement to receive
subsidies is already integrated.

Vitocal 350Heat pumps
Forget the idea that heat pumps are only for
new build. Even when modernising, you won't
have to do without this environmentally
responsible and cost-effective method of
heating. The Vitocal 350 achieves a flow
temperature of up to 65 °C, which is the
temperature you need to operate radiators.
Modernisation with a heat pump?
Of course! Not all heat pump applications have
to include an underfloor heating system.
Even heating systems in older buildings that
were originally designed for higher flow
temperatures using radiators can be operated
with this type of environmentally responsible
heating. The correspondingly high flow
temperature is no problem for innovative
Viessmann technology.
Convenient heating all the year round
The Vitocal 350 heat pump can supply all the
energy required for central and DHW heating
throughout the year – and in mono-mode
operation too, i.e. without backup from another
heating system. For this, heat from the ground
or from the groundwater can be used.
VITOCAL 350
Is it possible to install a heat pump if you're modernising your existing system? Sure. The Vitocal 350 brine/water and water/water heat pumps achieve a flow temperature of up to 65 °C. This is ideal for modernisation projects where existing radiators can be retained.

A real workhorse
The Vitocal 350 heat pump is particularly
convenient for both central and DHW heating.
This is made possible by the additional vapour
injection in the compressor circuit. This
technology is also known as the EVI cycle
(Enhanced Vapour Injection). In this cycle, a
small amount of refrigerant is diverted as
required via a solenoid valve. This refrigerant
is transferred via the auxiliary heat exchanger
to the compressor, where it is injected directly
into the compression process. In this way,
for a heat pump high flow temperature of
up to 65 °C or 58 °C for DHW heating can
be achieved.
Perfect interaction
The scroll compressor and additional vapour
injection are the perfect extensions when it
comes to converting renewable energy from
nature into useful heating energy. The system is
hermetically sealed and is characterised by its
superior operational reliability and quiet running.
Cooling with your heating system
Subject to system design, the integral natural
cooling function can also be utilised (for types
BWH/WWH with special accessories). This
means that, in summer, the low temperatures
underground and in the groundwater, can be
used to cool the building.

Vitocal 300-AHeat pumps
Simply taking energy out of the air and using it
for central and DHW heating – that sounds
rather tempting. However, especially in winter,
i.e. precisely when the demand for heating
energy is high, the outside air does not contain
much energy for a heat pump to extract. This is
no problem for the Vitocal 300-A air/water heat
pump. It is particularly efficient and can, even
at an outside temperature of 5 °C, still deliver a
flow temperature of 60 °C.
Heating efficiently with air
The Vitocal 300-A air/water heat pump is
extremely efficient and achieves high seasonal
performance factors. It can take over both
central and DHW heating. This means you can
start entering a big fat zero into your
household accounts for your fossil fuel bill
straight away. Only the cost of power to
operate the heat pump is incurred.
Higher convenience, lower investment
To install a Vitocal 300-A air/water heat pump,
you won't need to invest any additional money.
There is no geothermal collector to be laid or
drilling work to be carried out, as is the case
with geothermal probes. Furthermore, the
matched output and optimum operating mode
mean that, subject to version, you may not need
a cumbersome buffer or cylinder primary
system. Yet another benefit is that the Vitocal
300-A can be installed either outside or inside,
subject to the prevailing building conditions.
VITOCAL 300-A
The Vitocal 300-A opens a new chapter in air/water heat pumps. Advanced heat pump technology guarantees the highest level of efficiency at every stage of operation.

Top technology for top performance
The Vitocal 300-A is the first air/water heat
pump with digital scroll technology and an
electronic bi-flow expansion valve. This means
it achieves an extremely high coefficient of
performance 3.8. This allows high seasonal
performance factors to be achieved, for
example. What's more, it makes the
Vitocal 300-A particularly reliable where heat
supply is concerned. Significantly lower
running costs result as well.
RCD: Always as much heat as you need
RCD stands for Refrigerant Cycle Diagnostic
system. This is responsible for permanently
monitoring the heat demand and the output
made available by the Vitocal 300-A. It can
therefore ensure optimum output matching
and the highest level of efficiency at every
operating point. Air ducts, wall outlet, insulated
heating pipe and the energy statement to
receive subsidies are already integrated.
Not only quiet at night
Particularly quiet operation is ensured by a
radial fan with variable speed control and a
reduced fan speed for night operation.
Everything you need
Every household has different requirements
concerning its heat demand, and the
conditions for installing a heat pump are
different everywhere. The range of accessories
for the Vitocal 300-A is appropriately varied and
comprehensive. Subject to demand, the heat
pump can be supplied fully equipped. This
means pumps, expansion vessel and safety
equipment have already been fully fitted. Even
the modular electric instantaneous heating
water heater can be easily integrated. In
conclusion, Viessmann has the complete
product range to meet the demands of any
installation you require – inside or out.

Vitocal 350-AHeat pumps
Using a heat pump poses particular problems
for those of you who are updating an existing
system. For one thing, people tend to balk at
the effort required to drill a borehole or route
geothermal collectors near an established
building. For another thing, there is frequently
no suitable space available in the cellar that
could accommodate a heat pump. For such
cases, the Vitocal 350-A is the ideal solution.
It can be positioned either inside or outside the
building, and it draws its energy from the air.
Modernising made easy
Older houses tend to be equipped with
radiators. In order to keep the costs of a
modernisation project as low as possible, these
should generally be retained. However, you can
still use a heat pump that draws its energy from
the air. The Vitocal 350-A air source heat pump
achieves the high flow temperatures necessary
to operate radiators.
Internal or external installation
The Vitocal 350-A gives you a choice. Subject
to the available space, you can choose external
or internal installation. So if you're able to
install it outside, you save valuable living and
utility space.
VITOCAL 350-A
Do you want to modernise your heating system with a heat pump, but are unable to use a ground source heat pump? Enter the Vitocal 350-A air source heat pump.

High flow temperature, great
DHW convenience
The secret of the high flow temperature of
up to 65 °C offered by an air source heat pump
is the efficiency of the Vitocal 350-A, and its
additional vapour injection in the compression
process (EVI cycle). For this, the heat pump
extracts its heat from the ambient air, which it
does so reliably, even in winter. Subject to
system version, the higher flow temperature
enables a water temperature of up to 55 °C
inside the DHW cylinder.
Just perfect
If the heat pump is installed outside, the heat
needs to be "transported" to the interior of the
house. For this, you can rely on the heating
competence of Viessmann. For routing
underground, Viessmann offers specially
matched, thermally insulated pipe systems, as
well as a complete range of accessories.

Dual-mode systems
Dual-mode heating systems: Twice the benefit
Oil and gas prices continue to rise. So what should you do if you have purchased an advanced oil or gas fired boiler in the past few years? It's quite simple: Save substantially with a dual-mode heating system, and at the same time reduce emissions.
A heat pump is the ideal way to extend the
heat supply of an existing oil or gas fired
heating system. Consumption costs are
lowered through the use of free energy from
the environment, and simultaneously reduces
the dependence on fossils fuels. However,
a dual-mode heating system has even
more benefits:
Oil storage space and amount of oil to be
stored can be reduced
The operating times of the existing system
are reduced; the service life increases
The low proportion of annual heating load
means the boiler is no longer subject to
the yearly flue gas inspection, saving
additional costs
Power for heat pumps can be obtained at
special tariffs
The existing DHW heating system can
continue to be used
Little effort, great effect
You only need:
A three-phase 400 V power supply
Installation area for heat pump and buffer
cylinder, approx. 4 m2
Radiator heating system < 65 °C
Boiler thermostat setting max. 65 °C
Options for drawing in outside and
expelled air
Meter space to install the special heat
pump meter
Power supply to the heat pump meter
The Vitocal 300-A utilises the outside air heated
by the sun – and on cold days, a second
heat source can be switched on.
Benefits of dual-mode systems
Utilise the strengths of different
heat sources
Reduce consumption and running costs
Utilise free environmental energy as
much as possible
Reduce environmentally damaging
CO2 emissions
High security of supply
Greater independence from fossil fuels
Reduce the operating times of existing
systems
One third less fuel oil

Imagine it's a hot summers day. Would you
switch your heating system on? Probably not,
unless you have a Viessmann heat pump.
After all, heating systems don't generally have
much to do in summer – apart from heating
DHW. It is different for heat pumps as some
Viessmann heat pumps also offer a cooling
function as an additional benefit.
Active or passive cooling
When cooling with a heat pump, you can
choose between two different methods:
Passive cooling:
This is where the brine medium or the
groundwater absorbs the energy from the
heating circuit via a heat exchanger and
transfers it outside. This function is also
called natural cooling, as it uses the natural
ambient temperature for cooling. Apart
from the control unit and circulation pump,
the heat pump remains switched off.
Active cooling:
For this, the function of the heat pump is
simply reversed. This cooling is also called
"reversible" operation of the heat pump.
As with a fridge, cooling is then actively
generated by the heating system.
Cooling with heat pumps
Of course, heat pumps primarily exist to provide pleasant and convenient heat, and reliable DHW heating. However, heat pumps can do more. They can also be used to cool a building.
Heat pumps

Viessmann heat pumps to

NC-Box
The optional equipment for
Viessmann heat pumps to

Page 40
Cooling by nature: Natural cooling
While the ground or groundwater is used in
winter to provide energy for heating, in
summer it can be used for natural cooling.
With the natural cooling function, the control
unit only starts the primary pump and
circulation pump. This means the relatively hot
water from the underfloor heating system can
transfer its heat in the heat exchanger to the
brine in the primary circuit. This extracts heat
from all rooms that are connected. This makes
natural cooling a particularly energy-efficient
and affordable method for cooling buildings.
38/39
NC-Box: Energy-efficient and
affordable cooling
The Viessmann NC-Box helps heat pumps to
provide cooling in a completely natural way. In
fact, it's really quite simple. On hot summer
days, the temperatures inside your house are
higher than in the ground or groundwater. The
heat pump control unit then switches to
natural cooling, and uses the ground or
groundwater to dissipate the heat from your
living space.
Saving while cooling
The natural cooling function only needs to use
the control unit and circulation pumps, so that
all other functions remain off. Only a very small
amount of power is therefore consumed for
operation. This makes natural cooling a
particularly energy-efficient and affordable
method for cooling buildings.
Everything you need to keep it cool
In the Viessmann "Natural Cooling Box", all
the components are prefitted. This makes the
thermally insulated box not only compact, but
also particularly simple and quick to install.
With or without mixer
The natural cooling box is available for
system-specific applications with two
equipment levels – subject to demand, with
or without mixer. The integral mixer enables
continuous operation without falling below
the dew point.
NC-BoxNatural cooling
The effective thermal insulation of the NC-Box prevents the
formation of condensate.
AC-BoxActive cooling
AC-Box – efficient heating or cooling
The Viessmann AC-Box combines active
cooling and natural cooling in your heat
pump, thus making it even more versatile
and convenient. Depending on how cool you
would like it to be in your rooms, the system
switches over automatically. If only a low
cooling level is required, then natural cooling
is adequate. If that is no longer sufficient,
active cooling is added.
Cooling using tiny amounts of energy
With natural cooling, the compressor circuit
is not needed. Only the brine and heating
circuit pumps are operational and utilise the
temperature differential between the rooms and
the temperature of the ground or groundwater.
This means they cool the rooms in a particularly
cost-effective way.
Keep cool when it gets really hot outside
With active cooling, the compressor circuit
starts to work. However, it does not provide
heating – the internal control unit reverses
the output and input functions and now
actively transfers heat out of the building to
the geothermal probe. Cold water now flows
through the heating circuit itself – cooled
down to 7 °C if required.
Utilising extracted energy
Incidentally, you can make direct use of the
heat transferred out of the rooms in this way.
For example for DHW heating or to heat a
swimming pool. This means you can combine
the cooling and heating functions extremely
effectively.
Well thought-out technology: The
AC-Box simply starts the heat pump
– with the active cooling or natural
cooling function, subject to the
cooling required.

Vitovent 300Domestic ventilation system
Air is considered to be fresh when its CO2
concentration falls below 0.1% vol and it is
free from odours. Opening the window to
achieve this initially seems to be the best idea.
However, window ventilation is a bit hit and
miss. Either we ventilate too much and waste
heating energy, or we ventilate too little and
then feel tired and lethargic. In contrast, the
Vitovent 300 domestic ventilation system
continuously replaces the air and removes
odours and noxious substances. This means
you continuously create a pleasant, healthy
atmosphere.
Prevent mould,
protect the building fabric
One of the main causes of mould growth is
humid room air. Unfortunately, mould doesn't
just look unsightly, it is also unhealthy for both
you and the structure of your home. One thing
is for sure, investing in a domestic ventilation
system is cheaper than remedying building
damage caused by fungal growth and mould.
Allergy sufferers can breathe a
sigh of relief
A filtration system, employing an effective
pollen filter (cat. F6), cleans the fresh outside
air of harmful substances. This allows allergy
sufferers to enjoy fresh air too. Reducing the
growth of mites and mould fungus is beneficial
for everyone.
Enjoy security and quietness
The Vitovent 300 ensures a continuous air
change – so windows can stay closed all year
round. That doesn't just offer improved safety
against burglary, but also keeps out the noise
of the streets.
VITOVENT 300
Air quality makes a real difference to the quality of life inside our homes. An essential component of this is plenty of fresh air. However, modern construction practices do not make this easy. Buildings are designed to be as airtight as possible, to prevent heat loss. Here, the Vitovent 300 ventilation system creates a pleasant, healthy atmosphere in your room, without wasting energy.
42/43
Ventilating virtually without energy loss
Saving energy is the trump card of the
Vitovent 300. The powerful heat exchanger
recovers more than 90% of the latent heat
contained in the used air and uses it to heat
the incoming air. Thanks to the very efficient
DC motors, per 1 kWh of electrical energy
used, 15 times more heating energy is
recovered. This means that in a living area
of 150 m2 for example, you save approx.
300 l fuel oil a year.
Cooling with night air
In winter, the majority of the heat contained in
the extract air is recovered through the heat
exchange function. In summer, the heat
exchanger is completely bypassed via the
integral bypass damper. Through this
temperature-controlled bypass circuit, cool
night air can enter the rooms in night mode.
Fastflex flat duct system: Space-saving
and easy to install
The Fastflex system for air distribution is
precisely matched to the Vitovent 300. For one
thing, it makes it easier to install and set up
the domestic ventilation system. For another, it
also saves space. On one routing level, two
floors can be made simultaneously accessible.
The flat ducts are not only so versatile that
they can adapt to suit any structural
characteristics, but they are also particularly
durable, stable, and can even be routed below
the screed in the floor insulation.
Vitovent 300Domestic ventilation system
The Vitovent 300 provides a comfortable atmosphere all year round, reduces the
ventilation heat demand and lowers your heating costs.
Take advantage of these benefits
Ensures a comfortable and healthy atmosphere
Saves on heating costs
Heat availability level in excess of 90% reduces the ventilation
heat loss to a minimum and lowers the heating costs
Integral, temperature controlled bypass circumvents the heat
recovery in summer (100%) and enables ventilation with cool
night air
Economical DC motors with constant flow rate and balance
control keep the air flow constant, independent of the static
pressure
Filtered outside air – important for allergy sufferers
Fewer odours
Balanced humidity management prevents building damage
Closed windows – improved security against burglary and
noise protection

"The whole is more than the sum of its
parts." In accordance with this philosophy,
Viessmann does not simply supply individual
heating equipment components that
correspond to the high Viessmann standards
for quality, reliability and effectiveness.
Rather, all products are part of a matching
total concept, where all components
complement one another. After all, only
perfect interaction between integrated system
components can exploit the whole output
potential of such innovative technology.
Viessmann system technology incorporates
everything that marks out a heating system
as reliable and economical. For example, the
Vitotronic control unit with wireless remote
control, the powerful Vitocell DHW cylinder
for the most convenient supply of DHW, right
through to high-quality solar thermal systems
for cost-effective central heating backup.

The demand for hot water is completely
different in every household. One factor is
the number of residents and another is their
bathing and showering habits. For example,
several people in one household often go to
work and school at the same time, so lots of
hot water needs to be continuously available
for the shower in a short space of time.
Those who prefer a bath will also want to
have enough hot water to fill the tub. Finally,
the DHW cylinder should also provide
sufficient water if, in an apartment block for
example, hot water is drawn from more than
one outlet at the same time.
The Vitocell DHW cylinders fulfil these
requirements in every respect and can
also cope with constant demands on the
equipment. In all instances, the installation of
a solar thermal system is recommended to
save energy and heat the water without cost.
System technology Domestic hot water
The Vitocell range from
Viessmann offers the
right DHW cylinder for
every demand.
As much hot water as you like
With the Vitocell DHW cylinders, Viessmann offers you the convenient solution to supplying your household with hot water – the perfect extension to your new heat pump.
A perfect match for heat pumps
Viessmann system solutions from a single
source make it easy for you to utilise the
energy from your heat pump to optimum
effect. For example, there are DHW cylinders
especially suited to heat pumps that are
perfectly designed for the requirements of
detached and two-family homes when using
a Vitocal 200, 300 or 350.
DHW convenience that's as individual
as you are
The DHW cylinder is ready for connection
to a solar thermal system, or to have one or
two auxiliary electric booster heaters installed
with up to 6 kW output for boosting the DHW
temperature. Squeaky clean: Vitocell 300 DHW
cylinders are made of stainless
steel – a material that meets the
highest hygiene standards.
Viessmann DHW cylinders:
Perfectly designed for use with heat pumps.
Strong inner values
Viessmann's product range includes the
Vitocell 300 and Vitocell 100 product groups.
All Vitocell 300 cylinders are made of stainless
steel and meet the most stringent hygiene
requirements. It is no coincidence that
stainless steel is also used for its anti-bacterial
properties in the processing industry, in
professional kitchens and in hospitals.
Alternatively, the inner surfaces of the Vitocell
100 are lastingly protected against corrosion
with the proven Ceraprotect enamel coating.
All DHW cylinders are fully equipped with
high-grade insulation against heat loss. Internal
indirect coils drawn low down to the cylinder
floor enable quick and energy-efficient heating
of the entire cylinder content.
