Scelta MycoFriends has developed a product based on the edible, medicinal mushroom Agaricus blazei Murill (ABM) of
Brazilian origin.
Traditionally, ABM is used against a range of diseases and has been cultivated commercially for the health food market.

However, the fruiting bodies of the ABM mushroom are relatively expensive due to the low yields. In Europe, the ABM mushroom cannot be cultivated in a
traditional way due to the heavy metal limit.
Therefore, Scelta Mycofriends B.V. has developed a stable source of ABM mycelium fermented on rye. The final product is a powder with beneficial
health effects and is patent protected.

Nutritional DataABM can boost the immune system due to
bioactive substances such as beta-glucans & ergothioneine.
The product is also rich in vitamin B2, copper, phosphorus, calcium, magnesium &
selenium. ABM is a good source of zinc.

The EFSA has not approved health claims on
beta-glucans from rye, but it has on beta -
glucans from oat and barley. These claims are:
• Beta-glucans contribute to the maintenance
of normal cholesterol leels in the blood
• Barley / oat beta-glucan has been shown to
lower / reduce blood cholesterol. High
cholesterol is a risk factor for the
development of coronary heart disease
• Consumption of beta-glucans from oats and
barley as part of a meal contributes to the
reduction of blood glucose rise after that
meal

Vitamin D has many benefits for our bodies and
mental health. The main function of vitamin D is
calcium absorption for the maintenance of
strong bones and normal muscle function. But
it also plays a key role in boosting the immune
system as in the process of cell division.
Plant based & vegan vitamin DVitamin D is often found in animal sources, but
not everyone eats meat or animal products.
Mushrooms are the only vegan source with
significant levels of naturally occurring
vitamin D.
Mushrooms contain a pro-vitamin called
Ergosterol which can be converted into vitamin D2
when exposed to UVB light. It is very similar to
