Small pox
It was endemic in 33 countries in 1967
The last indigenous case in India
occurred on 17th may 1975 in Bihar.
In April 1977 India was declared small
pox free.
The worlds last case occurred in Somalia
(Africa) on 26 October 1977.
The WHO declared on 8 May 1980 that
small pox has been eradicated.

since August 1996 in India
In February 2000, India has been certified
by WHO for the elimination of Guinea
worm Disease and on 15th February 2001
