Hans Poulsen was a singer-songwriter, popular at around the same time as Stork, with his hits including the 1970 Boom Sha La La Lo and Light Across the Valley. He also penned a couple of successful numbers for other artists.

The Captain Matchbox Whoopee Band were a popular 1970s Melbourne band, centred around Mic Conway (Captain Matchbox) and his brother Jim Conway.
