HE CAME INTO THE WORLD

John 1:9-12

John 1:9-129 The one who is the true light, who gives light to everyone, was coming into the world. 10 He came into the very world he created, but the world didn’t recognize him. 11 He came to his own people, and even they rejected him.

14 So the Word became human and made his home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen his glory, the glory of the Father’s one and only Son.

C. S. Lewis says…The central miracle asserted by Christians is the Incarnation. They say that God became Man. Every other miracle prepares the way for this, or results from this.

INTRODUCTION:•Why would God do something like this?

•Why would God ever become a man?

I. He Came That He Might Lead Many

Sons to Glory.

•Christ came to blaze the trail so we might follow him on to glory.

•There is glory at the end of the Christian life.

II. He Came That He Might Be One of

Us.

•God has come down where we live and has become one of us.– John 1:14

III. He Came to Free Us

From Sin.

•Before we can have peace with God, our sin must be dealt with.– 2 Corinthians 5:21

IV. He Came To Give

Life That Is Full And Good.

•Jesus says that when He is our Shepherd, we will have what satisfies.

•In fact, Jesus says that not only will we have enough; we’ll have more than enough!

JESUS came to seek US!•Jesus stands at the end of life’s road for all of us. In the end there can be no middle ground.

•The ultimate question is not how someone else responds but how you respond to Jesus.
