Split Column Kit
CAPITALS AND BASESCapitals and bases for PermaCast columns
are decorative. The shaft fits through thecenter of the capital and base and does notalter the height of the shaft. Several optionsare offered for PermaCast columns.TUSCAN CAPITAL AND BASE
The Tuscan style is standard and bestcompliments the PermaCast column. Tuscan isavailable for all ROUND and SQUAREPermaCast shafts.ORNAMENTAL CAPITAL
Five styles of ornamental capitals areavailable for all ROUND AND SQUAREshafts. Nothing makes a statement like aPermaCast column with an ornamentalcapital.
Using an ornamental capital with aROUND PermaCast shaft will alter the heightof the shaft (see chart on page 32).Ornamental capitals do not alter the height ofthe shaft when used on a SQUAREPermaCast (see chart on page 32).ATTIC BASE
Attic bases are used for a more ornatelook and come in 2 pieces. The plinth (seeDD dimension in chart below and the torus(EE). The torus can be used without the plinthif desired.COLONIAL CAPITAL AND BASE
Referred to as our "economy" capital andbase the Colonial is approximately 1/2 thesize as the Tuscan. It does not providearchitecturally correct dimensions and shouldonly be used when asthetics are not apriority. Only available for ROUNDPermaCast shafts 8" - 12".FIBERGLASS BASE
The fiberglass base is manufactured fromthe same material as the shaft and availablefor ROUND PermaCast shafts 8" - 12" only. Itis designed to be used in high traffic areas.4 When ordering an ornamental capital
order the appropriate base for the column.4 Ornamental capitals for square PermaCast
slide over the shaft and do not use a plug.These ornamental capitals will not lengthenor shorten the height of the column.
4 Insure exact opening measurement prior toordering column length.
4 When installing a PermaCast column,insure concentric loading of column. 100%of bottom must contact substrate and 75%of top must contact soffit.
4 When attaching hand rails or corner iron toPermaCast columns, holes must be pre-drilled before applying screws.
4 When ordering panel molding for squarePermaCast column, make sure to orderenough for four sides of column.
4 Do not paint PermaCast columns using darkcolors (dark colors are considered anycolor that falls within the L value of 56 to0). L is a measure of lightness of an objectand ranges from 0 (black) to 100 (white).
