GUEST LECTURE ON PCOD
Sree Vidyanikethan College of Nursing has organized a guest lecture on Poly
cystic Ovarian Disease (PCOD), 18th
December, 2018 from 3:00 to 5:00PM at
Dasari Auditorium, by Dr. R. Umadevi, Ms (obstetrics) Consultant, Sri Maruthi
Speciality Hospital & Director, Sri Gangothri hospital, Tirupathi. More than 200
students from college of nursing & college of pharmacy attended the lecture along
with faculty members. Dr. R. Umadevi gave awareness on “The way the healthy
life style practices (like avoiding junk foods and sedentary life) will prevent PCOD
occurrence and its treatment regimen”. She also focused on common
gynaecological problems like white discharges, uterine bleeding.
Dr. S. Anuradha, principal of College of nursing emphasized to avoid myths and
misconception and to practice the right methods like breast self examination &
menstrual hygiene and frequent voiding to avoid occurrence of urinary tract
infections especially in girls.
Mrs.M.Sandhya priyadharshini, Assistant professor, college of nursing, welcomed the guest and
addressed the gathering.
