Umicore Scientific Award
Each year Umicore will grant a “Umicore Scientific Award” for a PhD-thesis presented at an University in the European Economic Area. This award amounts to 10.000 euro.
Umicore aims to highlight the crucial role fundamental academic research has to play in industry and society as a whole: the scientific quest for intelligent clean tech solutions can help turn our society into a sustainable one.
Umicore has awarded its 2008-Umicore Scientific Award to young French researcher Nicolas Marion,
saluting his work in the field of homogeneous catalysis.
Umicore attaches great importance to the high scientific standard of the award and would therefore like to thank its partners (both Belgian fund for scientific research, FWO and FNRS), for selecting the laureates and ensuring the scientific excellence of the awards.
