Upgrade 11.1

• TENTATIVE Dates

• Timeline• Testing planned to begin October 1st (in DEV)• QA testing - November 2-11

• PROD environment will receive the upgrade on November 14th

• Future communications regarding what the upgrade changes

Boiler Insight Enhancement Releases

• Occur every 4 weeks (except holiday periods) • Next up is June 30th• Changes of each release will be communicated once release is in Production• Also posted on the Cognos Resources Page

• New project/enhancement submission location

• Former location still exists

Boiler Insight 2

• New package became available on March 17th

• This package is DQM(dynamic query mode)

• Communication sent on March 16th describing why this package is now available and the benefits it brings

• DQM is a newer processing technology suggested as a best practice by IBM to optimize query processing and relieve memory issues• We’ve realized performance improvements on reports using datasets, some complicated reports, and backend system utilization

• In all of our best interests to begin using this package since we’ll be moving completely to DQM in the future

Timeout

• To help Cognos function at its most optimal level, a 6 hour timeout was implemented on May 4th

• Any report that runs longer than 6 hours is automatically cancelled• Applies for all reports (interactive and background runs)• If report is ran interactively, the error message below will appear

The request has exceeded the execution time limit. It will be cancelled.
