A MUSIC college is broadcasting live interactive performances on theinternet for schoolchildren

The saxophone department at The Trinity College of Music at GreenwichrsquosOld Royal Naval College is using the free computer program Skype to linkwith Aldersbrook Primary School in Wanstead

Student musicians are using a laptop video camera so pupils can hear and see the performance

Colle ge saxop hone professor and project leader Melanie Henry hopes theywill be able to expand the project to include other schools

She said ldquoWere really excited about the possibilities of this project Manyschools dont have th e budget to b ring in quality performers and findingavailable performance space is also often a problem

ldquoThe children often ask how old our students were when they startedplaying When they find out they started in year six - at the same age asthe childr en It really inspires them
