Greenacre Writers are delighted to confirm the authors appearing at the Greenacre Writers Lit Festival:
Fri 17th May 4.30-6.30pm Friern Barnet Community Library
'So you want to write for Kids!' Creative writing workshop with author/facilitator Miriam
Halahmy 10.50. Miriam will offer insights into the world of writing and publishing fiction for
9 years to teens as well as offering some writing starters to get the creative juices flowing.

Allen Ashley will be facilitating an Open Lit Mic: Guest poet Sarah Doyle, CJ Flood and Miriam
Halahmy will be appearing but this is your chance to shine too. We are opening slots to
members of the writing community to showcase their work: greenacrewriters@gmail.com
Sarah Doyle is a published poet with work in a number of poetry anthologies and she hasbeen placed in several national poetry competitions. She is poet-in-residence for The Pre-
Raphaelite Society

Dr Josie O Pearse will be running a Workshop, Life Writing & The Writing Life, 8.50. She
has just completed a PhD at Cardiff University in creative and critical writing. She writes sexy
romances under the pseudonym, Angel Strand, and is published by Random House.

Sarah Harrison is author of twenty five books and counting. She made her name with the
bestselling The Flowers of the Fieldand its sequelA Flower Thats Free. The third in the
trilogy, The Wildflower Path, is coming out in September.
Leigh Russells first novel Cut Short(2009) was shortlisted for the CWA New Blood Dagger
Award. Her next four crime novels have gained similar success. Stop Dead, the fifth title in
the Geraldine Steel series will be published later this year.
Gina Blaxill's first novel for young adults, Pretty Twisted, published by Macmillan, is an e-
book best seller. It was followed by Forget Me Never, with a third, Saving Silence, coming out
later this year.
C.J. Floods first novel Infinite Sky, was published in February to critical acclaim. The Times
selected it as their children's book of the week. C. J. is currently working on her second
novel, due out in February 2014.
Sat 18th May 4.30pm PANEL TRUTH AND FICTION at Trinity Church Centre
Alex Wheatle, MBE, will be joining Josie, Sarah and Leigh on the panel, mediated by Allen
Ashley discussing Truth and Fiction. Alex is the author of eight novels, most of which are set
in Brixton where he grew up. He was awarded his MBE for services to literature in 2008.
(Alex is also the Judge for the 3rd
Greenacre Writers Short Story Competition).
