TruancyInterventionProject‐Theprojectisapre‐courtinterventiondesignedtodivertthefilingofaFamilywithServiceNeed(FWSN)petition.Thisprojectmatchesinterestedattorneyvolunteerswithmiddleschoolagedchildrenwhoareexperiencingproblemswithschoolattendance.Projectexperiencehasshownthatinmanycases,truancyproblemscanbealleviatedbyhavingacommittedadultdemonstratingconsistentinterestinthechild’sschoolattendanceandprovidingarolemodelforthevalueofeducation.Inotherinstances,relativelyminorinterventions,suchasmeetingwithschoolpersonneltoaddressunderlyingissuesthatarecausingtruancy,orhelpingthechild’sfamilyaccessavailableservices,haveasurprisinglybeneficialimpactonachild’sschoolattendance.

HARKNESSHOUSE‐Thistransitionalhousingprogramprovidessupportto14maleVeterans.Theprimarygoalistofacilitatethesuccessfultransitionofhomelessadultsintostableandaffordablepermanenthousingwhileprovidingthemwiththeskillsneededtokeepthemhousedandindependent.HarknessHouseispartofColumbusHouse’sHomefrontinitiativetosupportVeteranswhoarehomeless.OntheMove‐transitionalhousingprogramfor20menlocatedonthe3rdfloorofthemainshelter.Clientscanstayintheprogramforuptoayearwhiletheylearnbasiclifeskillsthatwillenablethemtolivemoreindependently.Thisprogramoffersprivaterooms,meals,andcasemanagementservices.SojournersPlace‐providesuptotwoyearsoftransitionalhousingfor15womenwhoarediagnosedwithbothmentalhealthandaddictiondisorders.
