● If you wish to sign up for an Honors or AP level course for next year you should be currently earning an “A” or “B” in your regular level course, or a “C” or better in your current honors course

AVID● This is a college prep program designed for first

generation college students who have the potential and desire to

attend a 4 year university. ● Students must exhibit academic potential, but may need

some extra encouragement and assistance. ● Students are selected by test scores and GPA. ● Program requires teacher recommendation, application,

and personal interview. ● This is a 4 year program. Participants are recommended to

start in the 9th grade.

What is California Colleges. EduCalifornia Colleges is a FREE website and online tool to help students and Families with Post-Secondary Planning. We are a Partnership district that provides our students with many FREE Planning tools.

The California College Guidance Initiative manages CaliforniaColleges.edu, the state of California’s

official college and career planning platform, which is free to all California educators, students, and

families.The Initiative is a nonprofit, funded in part by the

state of California, that partners with school districts across the state to advance local college and career readiness goals. Learn more about the

Initiative’s mission, goals, and approach.

How Does the website help my student?By creating a portfolio on CaliforniaColleges.edu, students will be able to:

1. Link their account to their school guidance counselor, who can better help them meet their college, financial aid, and career planning goals.

2. Track their progress towards completion of coursework-known as A-G subject requirements-needed for students to be eligible to apply to California State University (CSU) and University of California (UC).

3. Prepare and plan for success at the California Community Colleges, as well as any four-year college or university.

4. Automatically populate an application to apply for admission to the California State University (CSU) System when they are ready to apply. A Free Service.

What else can it do? & How do we get started?

The website provides parents, guardians, and families with:

1. Assessment tools to help your student figure out what kinds of careers might be a right fit.

2. A one-stop resource for information about colleges in California and nationwide.

3. An opportunity to track your student's progress on college, financial aid, and career planning. Students can save key information and important documents over time in their online portfolio and parents can view that portfolio.

4. A growing database of resources, articles, and tools your student can use starting in middle school all the way through college graduation and beyond.

How to Register Your Student Account Follow these steps to activate your free California Colleges Account.

1. Go to https://www.californiacolleges.edu 2. Click on the lock icon on the top right.3. Click the “Sign-in Button with Google” ● A box will pop up asking for your schools email. ● Input the following for your email and password:
