GPS VEHICLE TRACKING
SYSTEM
GPS tracking system combines the use of automatic vehicle
location in individual vehicles with the software that collects
these fleet data by the picture of vehicle locations.
Information about the vehicle location can be viewed or
track on electronic map via software or internet.
Urban public transit authorities are major user of GPS

GPS DEVICE
TYPES OF TRACKING
Passive:- In this tracking, device store GPS location, speed,
heading and sometimes trigger events on/off etc. It also
includes auto download type that transfer data via wireless
download.
Active:- It also collect the same information but usually
transmit the data in real time with help of cellular or satellite
networks to the computer.
GPS TRACKING SERVER
The GPS tracking server has 3 responsibilities:-
1. Receiving data from the GPS tracking unit.
2. Storing it securely.
3. Serving this information on user demand.
USER INTERFACE
The User Interface determines how one will be able to
access information, view vehicle data and extract important
details from it.
