What is EIT and what is a KIC?
• The European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) ‐an independent EU agency
• EIT operates through Knowledge and Innovation Communities – KICs
• Originally: Climate, Energy, and Digital• New: Raw Materials, and Health
• A few more KICs will start during the next years
• Food, Manufacturing, and Urban Mobility
• The EIT is an integrated part of Horizon 2020 • An average annual budget of 400 M€
