‘No matter how organic an approach you have to building things, there need to be some rules decided on that everyone is respectful of, and it needs to be within a larger holistic vision of how those pieces are going to function - otherwise it will just be a cacophony of sounds’

S. is 37 and had been homeless for some time. She found charitable help and now lives in a bedsit. She has a daughter who can no longer live with her.

She has never owned a computer, though a friend has recently set up a Hotmail account on her behalf. She does not know how to create a CV and as most jobs are posted online, she feels unable to keep up.

Now she has found a home and is starting to rebuild her life she feels it’s time to learn the skills she needs to find a job.

D. is 19 and is currently homeless and has been since his care home ‘refused care’ of him. He sleeps on friends’ sofas but manages to attend college. He has had problems with drug use in the past and has been in prison for shop lifting and assault.

He is bi-polar which affects his confidence very much. He avoids social networking sites as in the past his peers have been abusive towards him. He does have limited experience of the internet, but can't afford a computer so relies on friends if he needs to get online.
