Global Warming, Business, and Renewable Energy MOHAMED ABBAS ELTAHIR ELABBAS

2 Introduction Since the ages of industrial and technological revolutions, economic

growth has been regarded as the major fundamental of the world’s growth.

Industrial growth has started to affect the entire environment with its severe downside problems.

The formation of massive pollution making industries are the result of the constant need and greed of the human being.

These industries include, transportation and manufacturing, which are  exhausting the earth’s resources, but also causing tremendous stress on the environment and the ecological system.

3 Introduction Air pollution is one of the serious pollution affecting the quality of

human lives with its harmful pollutants. One of the serious pollutants is CO₂ that recent data reveals that global

CO₂ emissions were 150 times higher in 2011 than they were in 1850

4 Greenhouse Gases CO₂ with other gases form what calls Greenhouse Gases.

Greenhouse Effect

6 Global Warming Global warming is the term used to describe a gradual increase in the

average temperature of the Earth’s Atmosphere and its ocean, which is believed to be permanently changing the Earth’s climate.

7 Ice Melt, Greenland

8 Drying Lake Poopó, Bolivia

9 Colorado River Evolution, Mexico

10 Great Salt Lake Shrinkage, Utah

11 Business Movement Around the world, a growing number of businesses are taking steps to

manage their greenhouse gas emissions and reduce their climate impact.

Taking their businesses environmental responsibilities.

12 Apple Apple takes its green responsibilities seriously - environmental record. lowering their carbon footprint – changing the process of aluminum

treatment. Reducing devices energy consumptions through design modification and

using recycling materials.

13 Electricity Generation

14 Apple Renewable Energy Generation. Produce their own renewable energy

by building their own solar arrays, biogas fuel cells, and micro-hydro generation systems.

Renewable Energy Investments. Purchase renewable energy, investing in local and newer projects that follow apple’s robust renewable energy sourcing principles.

Apple Solar Projectto supply Apple’sData Center inArizona.

15 Apple Since 2015, powered 93 percent of its operations around the world with

renewable energy. Apple is already powering its operations in the US, China and 21 other

countries with 100 percent renewable energy. Apple has completed construction on its latest renewable energy project

— a 50-megawatt solar farm. Apple made a commitment, pledging 100 percent renewable energy for

all Apple production. This covers 14 manufacturing facilities across 8 countries by the end of 2018, leading to an emission reduction of nearly 600,000 metric tons a year.

16 Apple alone?

17 RE100 - Renewable Energy 100%

18 RE100 The world’s most influential companies, committed to 100% renewable

power. Production of renewable electricity from their own on-site and off-site

facilities or Procurement of renewable electricity sourced from generators and suppliers in the market

Switching this demand to renewables will accelerate the transformation of the global energy market and aid the transition to a low carbon economy.

Why ..?

Thank you…

There’s nothing wrong with Business Production, and there’s nothing wrong with Resource Consumption. But there’s something wrong if we ignore the true Ethical

stakes as an ever more imbalanced world keeps lurching ahead, blithely thinking, “At least we’re all in

this together.”
