We are taking a survey of our Lincoln neighborhood residents to see who would prefer to
have their Lincoln newsletter sent to their e-mail inbox rather than having a paper issue de-
livered to their house. If that is what you would like, please send your e-mail address to:
Claire Johnston, our LNA Secretary, to ClarePA@aol.com.
The last day to sign up to get a tree(s) from the Friends of the Trees for the upcoming plant-
ing season is Monday, Jan. 16, 2017. Trees are just $15, thanks to the grant application we
submitted for the neighborhood, and come with a watering bag. For more information, call
360-487-8324 or e-mail Vancouver@friendsoftrees.org or sign up at friendsoftrees.org/plant.
Your tree will be planted on Feb. 18, 2017.

Hello to all my Lincoln Neighbors!
Was it just me, or did Fall and the pending holidays creep right up on us?!! Should I
ever get all the leaves off my yard, that will signal the go ahead to start putting up
Christmas lights! Yikes!!!
Our upcoming events for November and December are going to be fantastic!! In No-
vember, on the 14th, at Latte Da coffee shop and wine bar, we will be launching right
into that holiday feeling with gingerbread house making and decorating for the
whole family!! We went with graham cracker houses actually, as we could accommo-
date more families that way. We provide the house, candy for decorating and the ic-
ing!! Please read all the details inside! There will be cider available for us to keep
warm and keep that cozy holiday feeling. Free to all, so first come, first serve on the
houses!!
In December we have decided to partner with Latte Da for their holiday event, to
make it the most magical event of the year!! The outdoor tent will be holiday deco-
rated, carolers, hot chocolate, smores and Santa all combine with our Toy Drive! The
wonderful local fireman will arrive with the truck to pick up our donations. We are
holding this on a Saturday evening, December 17th. Again, no charge for this event,
we only ask that if you able to provide a toy for the drive, that you donate.
In the fall, I seem to remember more often to give thanks to my volunteers, newslet-
ter, delivery people, treasurer, secretary, co chair and all the people that make this
come together. As you see less trucks on 39th and more crosswalks, remember that a
volunteer made that possible.
Giving thanks to you all.
