1. Processing of Birth registration

• Coordinated with the City Local Registrar Office

• Coordinated with Barangay Local Government of

Bucana for the support of 4 Barangay Health

Workers (BHW) in conducting household survey to

identify who are the Badjaos born in Davao City.

• Mobilized Community volunteers from

Tahimik/Mendoza for the intake interview with

BHWs.

2. Establishment of social infrastructure

specifically public toilet and foot path and

upgrading of potable water system

• Coordinated with Davao Light and Power Company

-Asked used electric post for the foot path

establishment

• Consulted Jhaymarts Industries Inc.

-Technical assistance on the assessment and

upgrading of water distribution in the Badjao

community.

3. Container gardening for home security and

nutritional enhancement.

• Coordinated with the City Agriculturist’s Office

-Technical Assessment on the appropriate Urban

Gardening design.

4. Income augmentation: banca making and support

of additional fishing gears

• Matched fishing gear support program of Bureau of

Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR Regional

Office) to Badjao communities

• Endorsed list of fisher folk to avail hook and line

fishing materials.

• 2 settlements had formulated operation and

maintenance for the acquisition and utilization of

motorized banca and engine.

5. Disaster preparedness, mitigation and

contingency planning• Identified PDAT members

(10 males/ 6 females in the Badjao community were

negotiated to be mainstreamed in Purok 12-B community-

based quick response team organized by Barangay Bucana.

• Only 4 Female/2 male participants from Badjao attended

in the conducted Disaster Risk Reduction and

Management Training.

• In the recent concluded Basic Life Support and First Aid

training from Sep 16-17, only 3males/ 9females

participated and mostly were youth.

6. Mangrove Rehabilitation as protection

and community nursery• Conducted multi-Stakeholders Consultation

Friendly Women’s Association, Badjao leaders,

• Partnered with taxi companies for the donation of

used tires as container garden, foot path and buffer

zone along coastline to safeguard the planted

mangrove from big waves.

• MinLand & Badjao Pastors lobbied to BLGU Bucana

to re-enact the Barangay Ordinance on the

“Bawal Magputol Og Mangroves

7. Adult and youth alternative literacy program

• Coordinated with City Planning and Development

Office and City Social Services Development Office

-Recommendation of Badjao from other community

who can be trained as para-teacher of Functional

Literacy.

• Coordinated with Alternative Learning System of

DepED for the process and requirements of ALS.

8. Improvement of community meeting

halls/assembly areas

-Enhanced the assembly hall of Pastor Laylate’s

settlement for multi-purpose use.
