"From, through, and to God be the glory

forever"

1 Samuel 3:1 - 4

LXX (Septuagint)

Mary sang: ‘My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Saviour, who has looked with favour on the lowliness of his servant. ‘Surely, from now on all generations will call me blessed; for the Mighty One has done great things for me, and holy is God’s name.

Hannah sang: ‘My heart exults in the Lord; my strength is exalted in my God. ‘There is no Holy One like the Lord, no one besides you; there is no Rock like our God …

‘God’s arm has shown mighty strength, has scattered the proud in the thoughts of their hearts; God has brought down the powerful from their thrones, and lifted up the lowly, has filled the hungry with good things, and sent the rich away empty.’

‘The bows of the mighty are broken, but the feeble gird on strength. Those who were full have hired themselves out for bread, but those who were hungry are fat with feasting …‘God raises up the poor from the dust, lifts the needy from the ash heap, to make them sit with princes and inherit a seat of honour.’

The LORD Gives Strength

40:27 You people of Israel say, “God pays no attention to us!

God doesn’t care if we are treated unjustly.”

But how can you say that? 28 Don’t you know? Haven’t

you heard? The LORD is the eternal God, Creator of the

earth.God never gets weary or tired;

God’s wisdom [Hokmah] cannot be measured.
