F or every next thing you do you always want to make it better. Well, I tried. Some articles have more work in them, and some sad to say, I just gave up on.

Not leaving the lines I got so fond of last time, but now exploring the dotted lines… I got rid of the collage I use in my blog and created custom ones just for this magazine (p24), and there you’ll find the dots creating a minimalistic approach to text and picture which I’m very happy with the out coming.The idea is to mix my blogposts with some magazine exclusives, and I’m kind of doing that with the “ombré nails”-how-to-guide (p44). I got the idea after blogging about my results, though I should’ve thought about it before and documenting it. So, instead of me showing how I did it I’m copy/pasting

how Nailasaurus did it. And I’m totally recommending you to check out her blog if you’re into nail art, there’s tons of inspiration there.Because of time and with the summer coming and all, I had to make a June/July issue. Unfortunately, I didn’t know that I wouldn’t have much time working on the magazine while on vacation. There should have been more articles and I had many ideas on exclusives to do, but all and all it ran out in the beach sand.

For the future I hope to have something better to write than to tell you all about my work put in this magazine. But that will come with time.

Step 1: Using the lightest of the two colors, paint your nails and wait for it to dry completely.

Step 2: On a flat surface, paint a generous amount of the colors right next to each other on to the plastic. Make sure they’re just about touching at the edges.

You will need:Two colour polishes, a top coat, a sponge,

one plastic sheet and a toothpick.

Step 3: Using a toothpick, swirl the two colors together in where they meet. The area where they mix will determine the length of the graduation. So if you want a long graduation, mix a bigger section of the colors, if you want less of a fade, just mix them together a tiny bit.

Step 4: Take your sponge and dab it directly down on to the polish a few times.

Step 5: Dab the sponge directly down on to your nail. Keep dabbing lightly and moving it very slightly up and down your nail.

(You can repeat this step as many times as you need to. Just make sure each layer is completely dry before sponging again otherwise you will start smudging the bottom layers and ruin the whole thing.)

Step 6: Add a topcoat. Or two or three! The sponging makes this mani very bumpy so you may need a couple of topcoats just to even out the surface.

Step 7: Clean up all the excess using a brush dipped in acetone or polish remover. I use a Q-tip dipped in remover for the big bits I can reach on my skin, then a small brush in pure acetone as I get closer to my nail and to make a crisp line near the cuticles.
