BRING A FRIEND. HELP US GROW.
Dear Parishioners,
During this Season of Advent we wait in joyful anticipation for the Christ
child. We are reminded to make
straight the highways—lower the hills, lift the valleys, and open our hearts to
receive His message of truth and love.
The weeks before Christmas become so hectic and we are easily distracted by
what the secular world would have us
think is most important. May your hearts be filled with the peace and joy
that only Christ can bring. On behalf
of the faculty and staff of Holy Family Catholic School I wish you a blessed
Christmas Season and health and
happiness in the New Year.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Kelly
THE FEAST OF OUR LADY OF GUADALUPE
Before mass on Wednesday, December 12, representatives from each
classroom participated in a procession to celebrate this special feast
day. Our Juan Diego (Cesar Rodriguez) presented roses to Our Lady
and revealed her image on his tilma.
A segment of Monsignor Eduardo Chavez Sanchez’s meditation on the
beauty of Our Lady of Guadalupe follows:
The virgin, clothed with mantle of stars as queen of heaven and earth, points
us toward the truth that God is love, and mankind is the recipient of his
love. The “One True God” is a God whose love is so great that he comes to
us through what was most significant and precious to him, his own Mother;
and whatever our condition, God confirms us in our dignity as his chil-
dren. Out of his immense love for us, God gave his own life, defeating death,
filling us with hope and giving a new meaning to our whole existence. In
return, Our Lady of Guadalupe requested a “little sacred house,” a church,
in which to honor the almighty God. This church marked a new beginning—
a new “cosmic home” for a people transformed by the splendor of divine
truth and divine love.
