Romsey and Totton Swimming Club (RATS) Head Coach, Steve Harrison and swimmers from the Senior and Junior Teams welcomed Assistant Provincial Grand Master Leon Whitfield, Ron Mabey and Clifford Gatrell representing the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Freemasons, to their home pool in Totton, to receive a fantastic donation of £3000.00
The donation will help to fund useful teaching equipment, coaching courses, team entry & travel expenses.
Some of the RATS swimmers continue from learning to swim, to compete at a high standard within the sport at all competition levels – Matthew Davies is one of those swimmers who has been very successful this year. Matthew has recently qualified to compete at the 2018 Cerebral Palsy World Games in Spain.
Along with all RATS swimmers, Matthew has worked hard with Steve to improve his swimming techniques and reduce his times. For the swimmers, this is no mean feat, it involves swimming at least an hour a day, covering up to 3000 meters a session (that’s 120 lengths of a 25m pool).
Romsey and Totton Swimming Club has a long history in the local community teaching hundreds of children and young adults to swim. The Assistant Provincial Grand Master commented that the Freemasons are proud to support the small volunteer-run Swimming Club and is happy for the Freemasons to continue to support Clubs such as Romsey and Totton Swimming Club in the future.

Leading children’s charity The Murray Parish Trust announces the return of their annual FUN-draising campaign The Ginormous Teddy Bears Picnic during June 2018 across the south of England. This follows the successful inaugural picnic week last year which was incredibly well-received and supported.
The Murray Parish Trust are now over halfway to reaching their £2million target to help build a brand-new state of the art children’s emergency and trauma department at University Hospital Southampton. The Ginormous Teddy Bear’s Picnic will enable children from all over south central England to get involved and give support to a critical cause.
Invitations have been sent to every school and setting of primary school aged children in Hampshire, Dorset, Devon, Wiltshire, Oxfordshire, Berkshire, West Sussex, Isle of Wight and the Channel Islands to host their very own Teddy Bears Picnic. This year preschool children from across Hampshire and after school clubs such as Brownies and Beaver Scouts are also joining in the fun.

The Ginormous Teddy Bears Picnic will also be sponsored by law firm Trethowans for the second year running - “We are happy to be able to continue to support the The Murray Parish Trust’s Teddy Bears Picnic again this year. We are really pleased to be involved in helping this truly worthwhile cause” Managing partner, Chris Whiteley, Trethowans.
It’s free to participate with a suggested donation of £1 per child. Participants are encouraged to be as creative as possible and share inventive picnic ideas.
Sarah Parish, mother actress and founder of The Murray Parish Trust said "We are so excited about the second year of The Ginormous Teddy Bears Picnic after last year's success. It's such a fun, inclusive and positive event for all involved - roll on June!"

pass St Cross Church and Hospital (photo 4). The river on our left continues to meander Southbound following our progress for a while, as we traverse through four different gates passing a farm and reaching a tarmac road to turn left again and pass through a ‘Road Closed’ sign (one end of Five Bridges Road). This sign has applied to vehicular traffic for many years, but not to pedestrians who are positively encouraged on the route. Cyclists may dash past but otherwise this is a walkers paradise. At the end of 400 metres we meet a fresh walk junction where we must turn left and follow the sign for Winchester City Centre and the Itchen Navigation (photo 4). For the next 1500 metres there is an even, tarmac path, with another tributary of the river flowing to the left and the shadow of St Catherine’s Hill looking on the right – as we now mirror a section of the Itchen Way.A climb to the very top of St Catherine’s Hill will stretch the legs and lungs, but is not part of this outing, although providing rewarding views from the summit and worth the extra effort on a clear day.Bipassing the hill we will soon arrive at a car park (in Garnier Road) and turn left following the road for around 600 metres at which point we once gain turn left at the first footpath available on that side. It will be signposted to St Cross Hospital, among other choices along the Itchen River. As we walk onwards the water meadows stretch out to the left and houses set back a little on the right, as the gravel track continues for another 600 metres up to a metal gate
and the start of The Valley of the Fields section that we entered a while back. Here we must turn right over a stream and up beside the Bell Inn, across the busy road as we swing right then left up Mead Road.We are now retracing our steps, but not taking an identical route back home because once across the railway footbridge we must aim directly up the lane into a sheltered gully (photo 5). This path is narrow and can on occasions be a little muddy, but more significantly it climbs steadily for almost one kilometre. On the way up we pass a number of tempting looking gates and paths on both sides of the trail, but resist these as our final destination lies at the very top, just before reaching Badgers Farm Road when we meet an iron barred gate on the right. We pass right through this gate and keep to the left track as we reappear across the footbridge that commenced our hike some time earlier. All that remains now is to retrieve the remaining 600 metres, mostly downhill, crossing the local road en route, and finally returning to Olivers Battery Recreation Ground with the panoramic view into Compton Down (saved for another day maybe). The well earned refreshment, if required, can be found back within the parade of shops in Olivers Battery Road South, a Community Café with a vegetarian preference and a very green approach to all matters of service to the customer.
This month’s walk drifts slightly East of the Test valley, returning to Olivers
Battery, near Winchester, being the location for a few previous walks. The suggested parking is on Olivers Battery Recreation Ground at the very bottom of Texas Drive, postcode SO22 4HT. This is a fairly hard location to find as it involves shuffling through the housing estate, but it is a significant point on the Clarendon Way and overlooks Compton Down (photo 1) and is an ideal start point. At a distance of over 5 miles over a hilly terrain, this walk could easily take up to 2 hours to complete, but as often before, will afford some wonderful views along the way – this time into Winchester and surrounds. In addition we join into another three waymarked footpaths, all with their own stories. On leaving the car we turn back onto Texas Drive and take the immediate right fork footpath aiming us up a steady climb along a fully fenced path, while after 300 metres we cross a road leading into a static caravan park (on our right); we then continue on upwards as far as and then across a footbridge over Badgers Farm Road. Then veering round the right and over the fields that form Whiteshute Ridge. As we keep on the top, on the right hand path, we pass through a couple of gates and after around 800 metres of downhill
walking we leave the field in the right hand corner (photo 2), over a short cinder path to emerge on a local estate road (Ivy Close).By turning right here we are aiming for a footpath that appears between the houses after around 200 metres. This path takes us beside the London bound railway line where we turn left and cross the footbridge over the line. Once on the far side we turn right down Mead Road until we next meet St Cross Road. This is a busy road into Winchester, which we should take care when crossing, as we then turn right then immediately left beside the Bell Inn (photo 3). We are now joining The Valley of the Fields, the second of the promised waymark walks and soon we will join with the Pilgrims Way as well.Walking up to the path junction, facing the River Itchen, we turn right and very shortly

ideal. Be seen at all times.

Although sad but true, The Frixion came to be after band members Gene and Lloyd bonded via Facebook over the death of their favourite artist Prince. Conversation turned to music and the possibility of doing something in the future. The Frixion’s sound has been described as “imagine Kylie embracing her dark side and working with Gary Numan”.
A TALK BY DAVE PICKERINGIn this talk, after drawing on an anonymous survey of 1000 men, feminist theory, internet memes and his life experience, Dave will explain the conclusions he has come to after 36 years of trying to make peace with being a man. 1 hour talk, followed by opportunity for audience questions.

Since 2009 he’s been at the grindstone, gathering stories and carving melodies while working late nights in bars between shows armed with just an acoustic guitar.
Graham’s ability to land his punches comes not only from his prowess as a lyricist, but also from his inventiveness as a guitarist.

Test Valley Chinese Medicine CentreDR YAN CLINIC
My husband and I had been trying to conceive for over 4 years but was unsuccessful. I was referred by my GP to our local Fertility Clinic and my consultant at the clinic suggested I try acupuncture alongside my IVF Treatment to increase my chances of pregnancy.I found Dr Yan’s article in our local magazine and decided to contact her to book an appointment. Following my initial consultation, Dr Yan suggested I have weekly acupuncture during and after the IVF treatment. I immediately started to notice what a difference having acupuncture made to some of my existing symptoms. My period pains were less intense. I started to sleep better at night which inevitably helped me feel less tired during the day. My hands and feet have always been cold but the needles appeared to help my circulation and within a couple of sessions I noticed they weren’t cold any more. I was overjoyed to find out I was pregnant 3 weeks after completing IVF. I continued to see Dr Yan weekly until I was 3 months pregnant as she suggested. At each appointment, Dr Yan gave me helpful advice on lifestyle and diet to ensure my pregnancy remained healthy throughout. 2 years on and I am seeing Dr Yan again while going through IVF for our second baby. I have also recommended Dr Yan to some of my friends.

supply and program a key to your new car, we can usually erase all the old keys and only program back the
keys that you now own for your own peace of mind.
