Flow indicator for bulk solids FTR20

TheFTR20flowindicatorforbulksolidsisanon-contactdevicebasedonmicrowavetechnology.Itisideallysuitedformonitoringpneumaticandmechanicaltransportprocessesforbulksolids.

Thecompactdevicecanbeusedwhereverthecost-effectivemonitoringofbulksolidsmovementisrequired.

Measuring principle TheFTR20flowindicatorforbulksolidsworksusingmicrowavetechnology.Asignalistransmitted,andthissignalisreflectedbythemovingbulksolids.TheFTR20measuresthestrengthofthereflected,frequency-shifted(Dopplereffect)energy,thisisanalyzedandputoutviathedisplayorthesignaloutput.

Example of volumetric dosing

TheFTR20monitorstheoutflowofascrewconveyor.Iftheflowofmaterialslowsdown(forexampleduetocloggingofthepipeleadingdownwardsorifthereisnomaterialbeingconveyedduetoafailureinthescrewconveyor),thedevicegeneratesamessagetothiseffect.Thiscanthenbeprocessedfurtherinthesystem.

Influence of ambient temperature

Theambienttemperaturehasnodirectinfluenceonthemeasuringsystem(FTR20istemperature-compensatedinternally).

Influences on bulk flow detection

Distance of FTR20 from the mediumThemeasuringsignalisinfluencedbythedistancebetweenthedeviceandthemedium.Withsignificantlydeviatingdistances,thedeviceshouldbeinstalled,ifpossible,suchthatthedistanceisasconstantaspossible.Ifthisisnotpossible,theflowindicatormustbeadjustedundertheleastfavourableconditionsinthiscasetoo.
