primary work was in data generation, analysis, and information sharing. This joint committee heard reports and was active with several issues of needs in the parish since organizing. In order to avoid “re-inventing the wheel,” the committee has decided to review documents and procedures developed by other unmet needs committees in the region, and then work off of those to develop its own unique procedures and structure.Due to the lack of housing, the committee is proposing a pilot project called Respite Housing for Orleans parish residents. This project will give residents a place to sleep and shower when they come into the city to clean their homes for up to four days. The pilot is schedule to begin in March. Residents will call a 1-800 number to register. The Nazarene’s will provide operational oversight for the respite housing. The committee has an ad-hoc group that will develop recommendations for structure, draft a mission statement, and begin drafting by-laws.
