How can the English suffix for the day of the month (st, nd or th as in the 1st, 2nd 6th) be automatically replaced by a number followed by a full stop in the target segment?
How to localize English dates automatically
4
• Date recognition in Studio is based on your operating system, so only recognised formats are handled automatically. So they need to match these:
• To resolve non matching patterns you can take advantage of the Studio platform by working with the SDL OpenExchange

What happens to a project if I "close" it (I have a number of projects in the projects list but can't recognize them and do not know the location where they are stored). How can I name, organize and store trados work files, tms etc. meaningfully and close a project without loosing control of my "project inventory"? How can I avoid creating a "new project" every time and organize a file structure for each client? It is all mixed up... : -(

Every translation is a Studio Project• Standard Studio project• Single file project• Server project
Blog article worth a read• “Open Document”… or did you mean “Create a single file Project”
Always find your Projects• Use the ribbon icons
• “Open Project Folder” in the Project View• “Explore Containing Folder” in the Files View
20
Avoid creating a Project every time…• Using project templates this is not really a problem• But if you get single files and want to keep adding them to one project then
perhaps create a project per client and just drag and drop the files into the existing projects to work on them
Blog article worth a read• “All I want is a simple analysis!”
21
Naming conventions… depends!• I use a numbering system that corresponds to my filing and I try to create full
projects for everything using Project Templates for speed
• If you work with single file projects then the name is automatically generated and the project files will always be in the same folder as your client files
22
Naming and storing TMs….• I handle a lot of different languages so always try to stick to language
conventions using the full language codes• en(US) – de(DE)• es(MX) – tr(TR)• it(IT) – fr(FR)…. or maybe “client name [it(IT) – fr(FR)]”
• I try to keep my TMs in a central location in my Studio folder.• You could just as easily maintain a TM per client in your central clients folder
Golden rule is probably store them somewhere they can be easily backed up as these are key to your productivity

How can I import terms from a Multiterm glossary that has English index entry names to a glossary that has German index entry names (i.e. "German" and "Deutsch")?
"Multiterm glossaries - Import"
24
Export/Import – index name doesn’t matter• In MultiTerm you can rename the index fields to anything you like, but it’s the
internal language code that counts
Two suggestions for handling this (Glossaries)
1. Export the terms from the EN MultiTerm and then import to the DE MultiTerm• Good if the definitions are the same
2. Convert both termbases to Excel (Glossary Converter from the SDL OpenExchange) and merge, then recreate• Good if the definitions are different

Is there an easier way for using TMs with different sublanguages (for example EN-GB and EN-US)for one project than exporting, creating a new TM and reimporting entries?

AnyTM (SDL OpenExchange) with or without project templates
• Allows you to add literally any TM you like as read only or update if supported
40
AnyTM (SDL OpenExchange) with or without project templates
• Allows you to add literally any TM you like as read only or update if supported
• If the distinction is important for you then use project templates
41
There are a couple of articles on this tool that can do a lot more• Reverse direction TMs• Supports multiple source language
It’s all English… right?
