Possible 2b: Full fill void
Remove joist ends, use plastic bearers and battens, membrane and fill void completely with polystyrene bead. Fill could all be one material using existing technology, e.g. blown polystyrene beads good because: Joists no longer at risk, condensation temperatures are only found in materials which cannot rot Sleeper walls pose no condensation risk or thermal bridge Battens allow free circulation of air around joists which means the joists are not in contact with any
condensation that arises on the membrane Risks Internal walls have slight condensation risk but risk of rot is minimised by replacing joist ends with plastic
